I've been going to Jonathan for six or seven years now. I don't even tell him how I want my hair. I simply tell him about what length I want and let him cut it however he wants. I trust him so much that I've let him cut off 10-12 inches without question! It's always been a great cut and easy to maintain. Because he's not geographically convenient for me, I went elsewhere a couple times. I've never made the mistake again. He fixed all the color problems caused by others. Another reviewer mentioned the peddling of products...Just wanted to respond by saying that Jonathan has never once tried pushing products on me unless I've inquired - and I'm not a family member or close friend, just a loyal customer. And shouldn't going to the salon be more about the cut and color you receive rather than space you receive it in? Who cares if his temporary location is small with an incovenient bathroom location when you leave with phenomenal hair?!! Jonathan could cut hair out of a dumpster and I'd still go to him. He's just that good.

Pros: Fantastic highlights, expert cut, and no incessant chatter

Cons: Parking can be troublesome

Suzie does the most spectacular mani/pedi's I have had ever had!! I have been coming to her for a while and super pleased every time I walk out! She really spoils you with the massages...which so far have been the best in town. You will definitely not be disappointed!

Everyone raves about their 'little find' but secretly hates to share. I want Toujours to be my secret but know that's not fair. I love the service, the ambiance and the people. I have been a few times and only know the hair services. It's an overall great experience. Shhh...

I have been a client of Johnathan Breitung for 10 years. Most people don't have lasting relationships with their stylist...but then they aren't seeing Johnathan. Johnathan is always up on the latest styles and current methods for cutting fabulous hair. He is the epitome of a professional. Not only does he listen to what you have to say but he is able to offer his own advice on what style would work best for you. There is no doubt that his new salon is going to be a huge success and well worth the wait. While we anxiously await the grand opening of Toujours Lakeview, his true clients will continue to support him at his temporary location . If you need glitz and glam to feel like you're getting a great haircut then head to the Gold Coast but if you want a master stylist who is going to listen to you and give you an amazing cut and color, call Toujours and ask for Johnathan.

Without a shadow of a doubt Johnathan Breitung is the best Master Colorist in Chicago. It is so sad that one unfortunate client is trying to discredit this man due to her impatience. Johnathan is by appointment only for a reason. As a long time client I am understanding when things get backed up. Prior to going to Johnathan I never got any compliments about My hair. Since going to Johnathan I am ALWAYS complimented on My hair style and color. I go to Johnathan to have My hair done, not to stare at the walls or care that I have to walk down the hall to use the bathroom. How lazy are some people that they actually complain about how far the bathroom is? I could care less about where Johnthan cuts My hair, as long as he does the great job he is known for. I look forward to Johnathan opening his salon soon.

I have had my hair colored by Johnathan for years now. Based on my experience he is the best master colorist. I have been to his temporary location and even if it were the size of a closet, I would continue to get my hair done by Johnathan. I originally went to Johnathan after my hair was a few different shades and very dry to the point where it almost had to be cut off. Johnathan saved my hair. Everytime I get a compliment on my hair I am reminded of who saved it. I read a terrible review about Johnathan which prompted me to discredit that "so called 1st time client", Johnathan is by appointment only...so I thought it that anyone had to wait for over an hour. This so called 1st time client it a little bit too knowledgeable about the salon and how it's products. Also, by the way this "client" wrote this review let's me know that it is not one of Johnathan's clients...they are too educated and would know how write a review. This disgruntled "client" sounds more like a bitter ex-employee...possibly the bitchy male that was fired. It's a shame that people would go out of their way to discredit the work of someone as professional and knowledgeable about hair as Johnathan. If anyone would ever like to see before and after pictures of my hair, I will gladly e-mail them to you. Johnathan thank you for saving my hair!!!

Sorry to spoil the party but I can't share your rave about johnathan b. I had to wait for over an hour before being seen. It was obvious that my time wasn't really valuable to this stylist. I had to wait in a cramped room smaller than most washrooms (and in about as nice condition as most public washrooms as well) while johnathan swished from client to client in a not very organized manor. I wanted woven highlights and said so but got sloppy slashes of color instead. One of the big highlights was using the washroom which is a floor below his workspace (and I use that term lightly). Really enjoyed walking the halls with a head full of foils. Thanks so much. I also didn't enjoy the hard sell on the inferior products. Sorry but I'll stick to bumble and bumble. A lot of hot air was used telling me about this mythical future salon he's building but the building he pointed out still looks like an empty shell. I don't know if johnathan is just disconnected from reality or he tells clients this to keep them coming to his little closet. Either way he can do it without me.

Pros: Are there any?

Jonathan B is awesome! I've been going to him for years and he has recently moved to Toujours. I'm excited for when the new salaon opens on Lincoln Avenue! I have never gotten a bad haircut from Jonathan and he even fixes the butcher jobs I do on my own hair.

I've posted a comment before but I must say that I had to repost to say that this place best! I love getting my services done at Toujours. Karina does my hair and she is great. I just recently got my hair done along with a cut since I go every 4 weeks and I must say that Karina did the best job on my cut since I've been going there. I have recieved numerous comments on the hair. She isn't the only great thing at this salon, so is scott who as soon as I walk in greets me by name, suzy my nail gal and Jessica my facial expert they make it worth going to this place. I can't imagine what I would do without this crew. Thanks for the great service you guys have given me.

I just had the best facial in my life with Emily. She really knows skin. Her gentle touch and the entire experience was wonderful. My favorite were the scented warm towels used to soften my face and wipe away masques and stuff. My skin has never looked better. I have had my run in with bad skin but no more thanks to Emily. Trust me girls go see her, I been to tons of places to have my face poked and proded on, but this was just Sooooo RELAXING. Emily is a must. Thanks Emily!!!!!!
