BEST EXPERIENCE EVER. NO QUESTION!!
by chitownobamagirl at Citysearch
My only quam is the parking situation. Thanks to the new LegoLand next door, we all must leave a few minutes earlier to scan the parking lot for a spot, but it's totally worth it when you step inside Asha! From the smiling polite girls who greet you to the warm neck pillows, tea and water upstairs, Asha always makes you feel welcome. So far, I have experienced one service from each department and have not had a problem yet! My hair colorist Heidi found the perfect hair color to go with my skintone and I am so incredibly happy with it! My haircut is literally PERFECT, not a hair out of place! Thanks to Kelly! As long as I live in this area, I will never go to another spa other than ASHA.
Pros: everything
Cons: parking
- Pros: Heidi and Kelly
- Cons: parking
Misuse of the word "spa"!
by pjcsrz at Citysearch
So I am just a regular husband that wanted to do something nice for his wife. Unfortunately, I got her a gift certificate for this "spa" in Schaumburg. I have been to a spa twice in my life, once in Scottsdale (Camel Back Mtn), and once in the WI Dells. Both of those places created a total "environment" of pleasure, nice music, serenity, etc. Stay away from this trap/strip-mall in Schaumburg. Despite the description above, this is NOT a "serene setting!" While they may be able to offer a decent massage, facial, or haircut, they drastically overbook their facility. To have a line of 7-10 women waiting for a shower is a joke. To have people actually miss their treatment appointment times due to a lack of adequate shower facilities is also a joke.
They should not be able to use the word "spa." At best, they offer misc. services, but this fails to resemble my 2 prior experiences at other facilities that properly understand what a spa experience really should be.
To my dear wife...sorry...I'll make it up next year honey!
- Pros: Market name
- Cons: Clearly not a spa! OVERBOOKING, insufficient facilities!
terrible spa
by mariey223 at Citysearch
the spa at asha is terrible
i went in to get a facial. first off, the have 2 dressing/locker rooms/toliets. there is literally a toliet just sitting there randomly in one of the locker rooms. there is one sink in between them and one shower. the shower is alright, but it has some giant surge of freezing cold water that comes down on you. why? i have no clue. while i was getting my facial, she used one of those metal tools. i have never in my facial getting life have ever had someone use any scraping tools on me. it was terrible. and when i was trying to relax, all i can hear is the bumping music next door in the hair salon. i was already annoyed with my spa experience , but i was looking forward to my free blowdry from an intern in the salon. when i booked my appointment, the woman who wrote me in told me about it so i was excited. after my shower, i sat in the waiting area for an intern for about 30 minutes. 5 of the hair stylists were just chatting away doing nothing and the intern was just wandering around. so im sitting there looking like an idiot with soaking wet hair waiting. then she starts to blowdry my hair. i'm middle eastern and i have long hair so its long and thick. she didnt even think to separate it. she just started attacking my hair with a brush. i wanted to cry. i gave her my big round brush since she decided to try to tame my hair with those tiny brushes for women with short hair. i still cant get over how bad my experience was. never again!!! if you want to go to a good spa go to the city, spacio is one of my favorites. and until burke williams opens a spa in chicago, nothing compares to their spa in california.
Great Service!

I just had to come on here and express my graditude to the staff at Asha Salon Spa. I was greeted with warmth and kindness as soon as I entered the door. The hospitality staff were friendly and welcoming. I got my color done by Heidi and my cut with Andres. Heidi did an outstanding job at going above and beyond what I could have hoped for with my color. She made me feel so special, attending to my needs and putting forth her grand expertise. She is truely a master of her craft. I would reccomend Asha to anyone seeking the ultimate in full service and luxury in the Schaumburg area. This is surely a place I would call home!
- Pros: Aveda, customer service
Amazing spa day for clients and for myself
by MelissaBinCHI at Citysearch
What an amazing experience. I was entertaining clients who were staying in the Schaumburg area. I thought a spa day would be a nice surprise for them as a way to "de-stress" and have some work-life balance (which spoke to the branding exercise we were working on for their company).
The massages and facials were simply wonderful and the staff was on-point, on-time, knowledgable and delicate all at the same time. My clients have already made appointments for their next trip, and I have made mine as well. Thank you ASHA for a wonderful, wonderful experience and stress relief.
Best Host in a salon
by getoverHAIR at Citysearch
I needed a haircut and i saw this place from the mall so I decided to try it out. When I walked in I was suprised at the prestige condition this place was in. Then I was greeted by the sweetest, nicest and most helpful host that ive seen in any salon. There cuts were great the coloring was great, but what most impressed me was that all the employees there were incredible and made me feel like a celebrity. And once again I really developed a report with the host. She was just so nice and down to earth. She alone was enough reason to go back to this salon as long as she works there. I wish I caught her name. All I know is I have been there twice, once on a saturday and once on a monday and she was hosting both times. If you see a girl with dark short hair and pink streaks your in for a treat. FIVE STARS!
- Pros: Great staff, even better host
- Cons: will spend all my time and money there
don't go to color hair
by iki at Citysearch
This is one of the worst expiriences for me. I went to Heidi, artistic director who is supposed to be the best overthere, She did my higlights in 5 min. than she left me with assistant who is frustrated with some interpersonal problems with other staff. Finaly, I got yellow/orange higlights which I didn;like . They told me to come back ti fix it and I went again. It is fixed but it only fixed, it doesn't look like what I expected from artistic director, I stil have grays and I just left salon.
I heart the Elemental Nature Facial
by gigi00 at Citysearch
I had a facial with Lillian at the Asha Salon in Schaumburg and it was fantastic. I found a coupon on their website for $20 off, so the cost was $75 -- which is a good price in the Chicagoland area.
When I arrived, I told them it was the first time I was visiting their spa. The woman at the desk upstairs escorted me into the spa area and walked me into the changing room. She handed me the "facial gown" and pointed out the robes and flip flops. She also pointed out the restroom, water and waiting area. She made me feel very comfortable and was very nice (not snobby).
Lillian started my facial by having me sit in a chair and soak my feet in hot water. She then had me close my eyes & gave me three different oils to smell & I picked my favorite (chamomile), which she used. She also asked me about allergies, if I've ever had a facial, etc.
She used many potions and lotions & I quickly fell into a hypnotic trance of relaxation, peace & tranquility. Honestly, I don't know what exactly she was doing (and I didn't feel the need to ask) but I enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the foot/ leg massage while the steam was on my face and the other "little" massages of hands/arms, neck/shoulders, face/head.
Although this was only my second facial, I really enjoyed it and thought Lillian was great. She asked me questions to make sure I was comfortable, but was not overly talkative & did not initiate conversations (which is a good thing). When I would ask her a question, she would nicely answer & continue the conversation.
The only downside? There is a LegoLand next to the spa and when the music was low, I could faintly hear the kids next door. When I mentioned this, Lillian turned up the music to drown out the noise. Although the noise was never loud enough to be bothersome, it was a distraction. Hopefully, Asha will invest in some sound proofing material.
Also, be sure to bring cash for tips because they won?t add it to your credit card.
- Pros: Excellent Service
- Cons: Next door to Legoland.
Bad service, bad Haircut
by wendyp337 at Citysearch
I had been going to asha since it opened in streets of woodfield. It is not the same as it was. The service has additute. I gave 3 chances = 3 bad haircuts , I am no longer trying. I asked for an experenced stylist, and I got the worst haircut I ever had and it took all of 15 mins.I even called and complained no response, nothing. I am shocked it is an Aveda Salon. It was up to Aveda standards 5 years ago but not now. Beware to all.
- Pros: none
Magic Hands
by KristenMayer at Citysearch
Peter gave me an excellent massage. He knows just how much pressure to use and where to use it. We had a consultation at the beginning of my appointment and then I drifted away. There was no talking during my massage I was able to relax and unwind from my daily routine. Truly an excellent experience. I will return.
- Pros: Excellent Massage
