There is an old saying "screw me once shame on you" "screw me twice shame on me" in this context the latter applies. FYI: I am not a translator but my wife god bless her is, she is dedicated, professional, never late, provides excellent services, and is a perfect representative for all the agencies for whom she contracts. For many years she contracted with Cosmopolitan Translation and although payment for services rendered were never timely she always received her check, that was until a few years ago. For whatever reason Cosmopolitan decided to ignore requests for payments or simply lied about sending payment, subsequently the last five assignments my wife undertook for this shyster went unpaid. Strange as it may seem Cosmopolitan continued to call her asking if she would take on assignments but of course she refused. Several years passed and the calls from this company eventually came to an end that was until a few months ago when Cosmopolitan obviously could not find another translator and begged her to take on several "important" assignments, so against all advice my wife decided to let the past go and began working for them again. Yes you got it right after amassing over $1200 in translation services Cosmopolitan have pulled the same dirty trick and simply lie about making payment. To this end and to assure this company do not cheat the hard working translator in the future I am filling legal proceedings to recover all monies due to my wife and asking the court to issue a TRO and injunction against these crooks. If you have been burned by this dishonest company and you would like to enjoin this law suit please contact me at the e-mail address provided. If you are new to Cosmopolitan take great heed to this warning and think very hard before providing your services, it appears they cheat everyone.
Pros: none
Cons: everything

STAY AWAY! I am one of this company's translators--totally used and thrown out in the most unprofessional manner. I did jobs for them for over a year--on time, and well reviewed by those who hired me. I kept receiving promises from the company that they would pay me, and they NEVER have! Even after many appeals and letters. Spread the word--DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: Horrible treatment of their translators (I was one)

I have used this company several times, as well as others in my firm. When a deposition I set up had to be cancelled because the translator did not show, and I was unable to get ahold of anyone for over an hour at the company to advise that their translator did not show. When issue was addressed, the translator was befuddled by the fact that everyone was upset. During other depositions and others in my firm have complained that the translators are not able to correctly translate. In one instance, we stopped the deposition because we realized the translator was not translating properly, and the company wanted us to still pay the translator for his time.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Company never answers phones and hires incompetent and irresponsible translators.
