Marcia saved us!
by jenneb
My dog used to have chronic intestinal issues until I found Marcia at Ford Dog's Sake. She is very knowledgeable about food and allowed me to get my dog off the Vet Prescription food and the powder antibiotics she was on. She now has a perfect stool and we are so much happier! Thanks so much, Marcia.
- Pros: Knowledgeable staff, great selection, not fake and no frills!
- Cons: Very far from my Condo!
love the products, not the attitude
by vickiashe
i was a big supporter of this store for the care and quality of supplies they have. But then I was there when a client's dog peed inside and the owner completely freaked out at the client. I found the whole thing very strange and have since taken my business elsewhere. Not the way to treat a client (and definitely not the way to treat a dog!)
For dogs that deserve the absolute best!

I stumbled upon this place about 2 years ago looking for some cute dog toys. The owner was very friendly and helpful and we started talking about about my dog. She gave me a sample of some dog food and treats along with some literature on the benefits of this food. I did a lot of research when I got home and from that day forward, we only feed our dogs the food that Marcia suggested. It has made such a different in their health and temperment. For Dog's Sake has such an incredible selection and are always on top of the latest news and trends for pets. If your pet deserves the best, you have got to check this place out!!
- Pros: knowledgeable staff, incredible selection, parking, unique mix
- Cons: wish they had grooming services
Always have the answer!

What a great place! I have two dogs and the staff is always willing to help out in anyway. If they don't have an answer, they will find it AND follow up. They are great with advice and never try to pressure you into buying. The best place for dogs and cats in the city!
- Pros: customer service is great. Ample parking.
- Cons: The bird can drive a hunting dog crazy.
Excellent Customer Service & Very Knowledgeable

Monica & Tracey know the products in which they carry and assist you transitioning your pet to healthy food. Before you make a purchase or decision on products they load you up with samples which last about 7-10 days. This is excellent with cats, I had two challenges with my cats. The store is clean plus they have onsite, grooming. Location is in Logan Square with excellent parking lot and always clean!!!! Ask for help and they will assist and go above and beyond.
- Pros: Parking, Delivery
Top Shelf Service

I was exploring changing my cat's diet to raw, or at least a better kibble. I went to the store four times and left each time with samples! I never bought a single kibble until my cat was adjusted to the diet.
My EXTREMEMLY finicky cat is delighted with the frozen raw food as well. It is what she has been looking for since she stopped killing things for herself.
In this world of horrible customer service I am more than pleased to have found an owner-run store to patronize.
- Pros: Selection, Price, Customer Service
- Cons: None so foar
Knowledge and choices

I've been going to For Dog's Sake for several years and I've always enjoyed chatting with the owner because of her vast knowledge of healthy feeding for dogs and cats alike. She is knowledgeable in many areas and carries a wide variety of healthy food and products for our furry friends. I highly recommend this place. The new location is big and beautiful and tastefully decorated.
- Pros: Parking, Experienced, Wide selection
There's more to dog food than kibbles and bits at this health-oriented pet shop.

This is one of the few retailers of Abady pet food, an all-natural dry feed, and the BARF (biologically appropriate raw food) diet, which features beef, bones, fruits, vegetables and other good-for-Fido ingredients ground into patties and frozen. A selection of cushy beds, toys and wheeled carriers is also available. Spoil your pet with a rhinestone-studded collar or the mood-ring collar that changes colors accordingly. A tray of canine cookies tempts from atop the checkout counter.

- Pros: Unique goodsfor dogs and cats
- Cons: Can be expensive
Fantastic Store and More
by kwakey
If you are looking for a pet store that has a little more than your average petco, go here. The owner knows everything you need to know about your pet that your vet won't tell you. Tender loving care is their middle name. I highly recommend you make this a place you visit often.
