Great cheap veggie eats!
by morgantheorgan
I'm so glad I finally stopped in here... the menu is full of Mediterranean standards: lots of hummus, falafel, baba, etc., but they can put it together in interesting ways, like the Ali Baba pizza I had once, which has roasted eggplant, olive, hummus, and lots of goat cheese on a nice fresh pita. The menu does have some meat on it, if that's your thing, but there's an abundance of vegetarian options, all for very reasonable prices. They also have some smoothies I've been meaning to try, which sound good and are under $3. Service is quick and competent. Vey nice, soothing atmosphere, too.
- Pros: Delicious veggie value
- Cons: So far, so good
This casual Mediterranean storefront in Lincoln Park serves up a mighty fine falafel.

In Short
Just north of Victory Gardens Theater, this friendly joint serves quick, reasonably priced Mediterranean fare to pre-theater diners and on-the-go locals. Place orders at the front counter, then grab a table in the comfortable back dining room where exposed brick walls, embroidered tablecloths and photos of Mediterranean locales make for an urban-exotic ambience. The namesake falafel sandwich is a well-spiced treat; other dishes include stuffed grape leaves, creamy, lemony hummus and crispy-chewy baklava.
