we were invited to Moda by a friend and from the looks of the website were ready for a pretentious, overpriced, heavily make-up'd evening. Well it was something like that. We were told the dress code was "party chic" and to shy away from jeans so we dressed accordingly and were, by far, the most overdressed people in the place. the website is completely misleading. there is nothing hip, trendy, fashion forward or upscale about this place - unless you call day-glo clad go-go dancers and exceptionally rude bartenders trendy. the interior was disappointing - could have used a whole lot of updating. the banquettes, which can be reserved, were small and cramped and the leather of every single bench was ripped in numerous places (real upscale!). the website also claimed "exceptional bathrooms" - this unfortunately is a big 'ole lie. my stall door didn't even close properly. the music was ok, if you like loud house music. i myself don't, but if that's your thing then the dj was good. everything was overpriced and the place never actually filled up - no line around the block, no "professional athletes, models or celebrities". overall it was a tremendously disappointing evening, especially considering the hundreds of other places downtown that far surpass this place. i guess go into it with an open mind and ignore everything the website tells you.
Pros: not too sure
Cons: just about everything

Me and my girls went up to Moda last Wednesday and had a total BLAST! I hadn't been there in awhile, so it was soooo good to have the Moda that I remember back!! It was so fun that I even went back on Saturday night and it was just as good!!!! I LOVE YOU MODA!

When MODA first opened several years ago it used to be the place to be! It would be jammed pack with the hottest looking people to celebrities! I would frequent it almost every weekend and 1 weekday every week! But, the successfulness of the club got to the staff and owner's head where they just became ridiculously rude and cocky! I eventually stopped hanging out at MODA! There are better clubs in Chicago. Several weekends ago I was invited to a party there. I was VERY hesitant about going but what a change when I got there! The staff was extremely nice BUT the place was empty! I stayed for about an hour and had to leave cause the place was dead on a Friday night! What comes around, goes around. The place is finally going under due to the owner and staff's snooty attitude!
Pros: Going out of business
Cons: Miss the old MODA

When I first arrived at Moda, I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. Once past the door, you're greeted by rather interesting almost artistic atmosphere with a dance floor suited best, perhaps, for a small Indiana gentlemans club. The women were certainly attractive although the men, and lots of them, happened to be in the 30 - 40 range. Of course, they do get their tables, order bottle service and send the employees to hunt around for women to join them. It's not all bad though considering most of them are stumbling around after a few earlier rounds at Rockit and more than happy to feign interest for a couple more. All and all, it's not a bad place to spend an evening as long as enjoyment is not in-line with how many potentials you meet.
Pros: Decent atmosphere and drink list. Service did what it was supposed to
Cons: The older crowd obsessed with maintaining their idea of youth

Moda used to be a great place to go, but the crowd has gotten older, and so has the decor. The service has even slowed down. I won't be returning.
Pros: Easy parking with Valet
Cons: Not Trendy At All, Too Smoky

My friends and I were let in almost immediately but I am used to that sort of treatment being a female. Anyway, I enter and see tons of fake girls...we're talking the really fake tans w/ bleached hair and gobs of makeup...I can tolerate a lot but then in the bathroom I had a tall blonde Barbie (minus the rack) wanted to get around me, but NO room to move and she said "excuse me" to which I looked at her liked "nowhere to move?!" so she put her hand on my behind and give me a shove. A promoter chick took our picture, not sure why, we don't look fake...we are chicks that don't NEED to enhance ourselves...but for snotty women, I guess this place is the place to be! I'm not really a fan of that kinda music or people that think they are above you.

I can imagine it being difficult for guys to have a good time at MODA (unless you are in the know), but as girls, we had a rockin' time! It seems like the place to be and be seen on Wednesdays. We didn't have to pay cover, the decor was beautiful, the music was just what we wanted (house), and we didn't have to pay for drinks b/c a friend of ours new a bartender. So we may have been a bit of an anomaly to the rest of the crowd, but I have only good things to say about clubbin' at MODA!

I went there on friday night with couple of friends and i had a blast! The place is GEOUREOUS, drinks are strong(thogh a little pricey), and the bartenders...i think all of them are models, very beautiful and sexy. The bouncers are ok, a little picky. The place is expensive but way worth time and money. Great croud too and the dj was spinning some fine music. I will definetelly be back here....
Pros: decor, drinks, bartenders,, music
Cons: pricey,, gets very crouded

The hype of this place is amazing. Went there last night for a friends birthday. Read the reviews here before we went with the promise of beautiful people and a superior fashion sense of the crowd. What a let down! We were apart of the 20% of patrons that fit the mold. The woman were pretty hot, except for a place that is supposedly picky about who they let in, they sure had their fair share of unattractive suburban plain janes who travel in herds. All the guys look like clones of each other: black shirts, blue jeans, and pomade in their hair. Overall we had a great time, and we would go back, but this time we really would know what to expect so we won't be let down.
Pros: Great Music, Location
Cons: Dance Floor Too Small, Too much hype, Unattractive People
