this is to all the moonshine haters
by rsm012492 at Citysearch
okay first of all i want to start by saying that moonshine is a great place to come and hang out, drink some beers, enjoy the people that surround you, great music, great history, blowing rooftops specials, great food, casual atmosphere....we have it all! we have a free lot,a great organized patio,nd unique design of the place, something different than all those other same old restaurant.im not saying this cause im an employee at monnshine, but i do work there and i see how people enjoy being there, and how there is communication, and laughs all over.we and my co workers always try to leave the place as clean and tidiest.i been to restaurant and they are unorganize, thats why we have our staff and myself working to bring joy and great customer service.there's people here in this website giving bad reviews, complaining about everything, well if we were so bad how come we have our overpacked patio, our great customers who enjoy our place, people that be writing this review dont even know whats what?? they dont enjoy life like it suppose to be done. me as an employee i do know we have our cons, but that dont beat on pros.well i review moonshine as a great place here in the wicker park area nd all of chicago.
- Pros: a unique place,great atmosphere,great staff,good food
- Cons: we get overpacked but thats cause we have it all =)

Quality Food, Good Service & Cool Atmosphere
by Yummie1 at Citysearch
Don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. My waitress was nice and gave us great service. The food is has always been good for lunch & dinner (they have great chicken soup, give you options of grilled or fried, and full or half portions) and the menu is diverse but has mexican flair. And I love that they have a parking lot and outside seating.
- Pros: Food, Parking, Outside dining
- Cons: Late-night the music gets a bit loud
The worst of Division
by Ben8467 at Citysearch
Out of all the other places on Division to eat or drink at, this has got to be the worst hands down.
Unless of course you like techno music blaring into your ears while trying to eat overpriced appetizers and undercooked entrees.
The service was okay. Well, it better be okay if you have 30 people on staff!.
As far as atmosphere goes, this ain't really the place to kick it with friends . Well specifically, kick it with friends tastefully. Unless you have no taste in music or fine dining of course.
Don't let the packed patio fool you.
- Pros: Non
- Cons: Gross bathroom, expensive drinks, disgusting house beer, overpriced food, unorganized staff, terrible choice in music.
AVOID AT ALL COST. TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

March 07, 2008 - I had a very unfortunate experience while visiting moonshine. When the waitress gave us the bill we questioned her as to the amount of money we were charged. Mind you, this is a customers right, and a manager or honestly pseudo-manager actually told us verbatim "So your telling me that my waitress is stupid and cant add huh?" Seriously, Is this how moonshine treats it's patrons? I will never be returning to moonshine and be assured that I will inform EVERYONE I know not to patronize their business. I have a suggestion for them ...they need to watch who they leave managing their business. But then again according to the other reviews I have read it is obvious that they just don't care. There are way to many other good places to go to in Chicago to put up with this type of treatment. Save yourself the trouble...stay away!!!
- Pros: NEIGHBORHOOD
- Cons: THE MANAGEMENT
Good Time
by goodrgby at Citysearch
Although I was extremely intoxicated when I showed up it was an awesome time. I think the people who gave this place poor reviews need to relax and enjoy life a little. Their sinicism has not gone unnoticed though! The drinks were a little pricey, but what do you expect?!? This is Chicago. The crowd was a little older than I expected; late 20's - early to late 30's, but that could have just been the night! I'm still a young 24. I would definitely go again!
- Pros: Ambience, Friendly Staff, Laid-Back Atmosphere.
- Cons: Drink Prices
AWESOME SALAD!!!
by anibinani at Citysearch
if you want a delicious salad, order "the moonshine salad"...
i get it with chicken, and the chicken breast is HUGE and warm and juicy...
in fact, i'm craving one right now...
:)
- Pros: awesome owners, neighborhood, atmosphere, SALAD, etc...
- Cons: nada
Not good..
by noragil at Citysearch
I went here this past Friday - I would never go back. This place is dirty and smelled like old beer. The food is mediocre to bad and the service is horrible. The plates/glasses were not clean. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE!
- Cons: Dirty; Overrated
Food not worth it
by faribath at Citysearch
Just having moved to the city, my boyfriend and I thought we would explore the food spots on Division. The outside seating at Moonshine looked cute, but that was about it. Our waitress seemed bored and annoyed to have to wait on us, or any of her tables. There were lipstick marks on my water glass, and the food was below average. I ordered a burger, figuring no one can screw that up, but it was just a frozen patty which had been charred to the point of cutting my gums when I chewed it! The fries were pretty good, and my boyfriend's fajitas were OK (bland spices). The prices were not worth the quality of food. We'll pass next time.
