PATHETIC FOOD

After much thought and discussions, yesterday me and my five colleagues went to this India Garden, restaurant to have some good indian Food.

To our surprise out of the some 8 dishes we ordered, not even a single dish was good. We ordered Bhindi Masala, Murg Vindaloo, Jheenga Pudina Masala, Dal Fry, Paneer Tikka, Lamb Biriyani and in appetizers we ordered, Chicken Pakoda, and Shami Kabab. ( Check the Menu, if you go there ).

If one dish doesnt taste good, one can understand, but if all the dishes ordered were bad, tasteless, and pathetic....i would say there is some serious problem.

I am a foodie,and i like Indian Food of all, so i look for an go to Indian Restaurants mostly. THIS WAS A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.

Good food, and great wait staff

Ok, So when I travel for work I always like to find an good Indian restaurant to enjoy my favorite cuisine. Normally I will ask co-workers or my customers if they could recommend a place however no one could recommend a place. So after much reviewing I tried Indian Garden. I am glad I did. I went earlier in the evening so it was not crowded.

I had the Samosas which were tasty. I am use to the potatoes and pea's blended into a mush at my favorite place but this had solid chunks with good flavor and spices. For the main course I had the Murg tikka Masala. The spices were nice, I am use to it being a little more richers (reder color, theres was yellow) but it had strong flavor and spices were good. The garlic Nan was good.

The wait staff was very nice and prompt service. Over all I would like to say it was 8/10 or 4 out of 5 stars. The only thing I did not like was the plastic covering on the tables. I totally understand why the have it, and I have seen other restaurants use glass for the tables covers. maybe this is something they can look into some time.

wouldn't go there again

The owners are warm but thats because they want to over power the crappy food they serve. Its just like any other Indian place heavy and unhealthy. Not a new menu at all. The service is good but you can't eat it or pay 40$ for it right?

Splendid Indian Food!

I have been here twice, once under the old management and the 2nd time under new management. I woul say this is a very good restaurant with excellent authentic food. I just loved everything they served. I am planning to go here again with a group of friends. The new owners were friendly, polite and the service staff was very knowledgeable.

The food is terrible!!! place is a complete let down

The buffet on Sunday was so bad, the rasmalai was stale, the chicken was hard as rubber. The earlier India Garden food was far more better.Gaylord Rocks!!!

My favorite restaurant

If you asked me what my favorite restaurant is, I would have to say Indian Garden. The food is wonderful, especially at their lunch buffet (which is also inexpensive) The naan is fluffy and delicious, and the variety of food (paneer, dal, curry, and dessert) is exceptional. Their food is the best blend of spices my tastebuds have ever encountered and I would definetly recommend going here; after being to many of the restaurants on Devon Avenue in Chicago, I can tell you that this is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to.

Indian Garden

Amazing food after the change in the managment the differnece can be felt.They have alot of options for veg non veg the staff is really friendly and prompt service.I travel alot and tried quite a few Indian places and would rate Indian Garden in the Top ten especialy after the new mangment.The manager is really friendly and they make it a point to walk up to each table personaly and see if everything is alright.I would strongly recomend if your in the neighberhood must go to Indian Garden.

Incredible Indian!

If your looking for delicious Indian food definitely go to The Indian Garden! With there new management, they are sure to take care of you and make you feel welcome. I highly recommend everything on the menu because everything is made FRESH! So head out and grab a bite or have a cocktail at The Indian Garden!

BEWARE - Do Not Pay for Food with a Credit Card

I wanted to write a note to alert everyone that might want to try this restaurant NOT to pay with a credit card/debit card. While it was an interesting experience to try different Indian foods, I paid with my debit card and noticed the restaurant charge placed on my bank statement was higher than what I had signed for. It turns up that the owner of the restaurant put the charge in for a larger tip. I had to go and confront him in person with the restaurant receipt and told him that I wanted the difference back. He was a little startled since he probably never thought someone would do that. He asked me three times if the issue would be settled if he gave me the difference. He then gave me the added tip that I had not signed for. Because of this experience I will NEVER go back.

• Cons: Charged for more than what I signed for on debit card slip

Good food

I've been here several times and have always found the food to be extremely good. The wait staff has always been prompt and friendly & more than willing to answer questions. The manager does a good job of watchig the room and makes an effort to greet each table. The lunch buffet is a great value and a good way to sample a variety of tastes. Beware though, most of the food is spicy.
