Service is excellent, food is unremarkable

by Missy821 at Citysearch

My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from here. The menu is enormous, one of the largest and most varied I've seen at any Indian restaurant. The service was great; everyone we interacted with while waiting for our food was incredibly nice. The dining room itself, though we didn't eat there, looked attractive enough.

The only problem with this place is the food. Because the host/hostess/servers were so incredibly nice, I wish we had liked the food more so we could add this to our regular rotation of Indian food.

With all that being said, the food is by no means terrible--it's simply average. We had garlic naan and the tomato chili naan. The naans were good flavor-wise, but sort of greasy and thin. The entrees were acceptable, but unremarkable. I had the chicken makahni and the chicken was dry. My boyfriend had the chicken tikka masala, and he had the same issue with the chicken.

Overall, it's unlikely we'd return.

  • Pros: Service is outstanding
  • Cons: Food is simply average

Excellent Indian Food prepare by Chef Gulab Singh Rana, Excellent staff & customer Service.

This was my initial visit with my friend and I was very impressed. I have been to Indian restaurants in a lot of cities and country, and this is one of the best. Comprehensive Menu ; Food is very good quality - and price is good value for the quality. Good location ; excellent staff & service. I was very impressed by the very nice wait staff and Master Chef Gulab Rana who explained everything very well and who were very friendly. and if you like your Indian food a little spicier than normally served for a North American palate, then ask for it as "Hot" - hits the spot every time.

  • Pros: Great food, Good service

Dinner Buffet Review

by hoffmandesiguy at Citysearch

I went to this place a few years ago and the service in this place was terrible but since then I have visited this restaurant at least ten times and I have no compliants against their service. The restaurant has a very wide variety of selections and the food is quite tasty. Actually their food is comparable if not better than any restaurant on Devon Avenue in the City. The only complaint I have is that the India house is trying to capture the South Indian Crowd but the idli, sambhar and dosas do need some work.

  • Pros: Good Parking, Large Place
  • Cons: South Indian Food

An endless menu of vegetarian and meat dishes and tasty buffet keep diners coming back to this Schaumburg Indian eatery.

In Short
The menu at this formal Indian banquet hall boasts 250 items, making it a popular site for weddings and other events. Families gather for meat marinated in vinegar, spiced up with tandoori or swimming in hot curry sauces. Vegetarians are well-served, too: slow-cooked lentils with garlic, tomatoes and ginger, potatoes and chick peas in yogurt and homemade cheese cubs in a spicy spinach sauce.
