Terrible Service. I like Giordano's pizza for takeout - it's really tasty. But tonight I went there with a group, and the service was awful. We waited over 90 minutes for our one pizza - no joke. Our waitress didn't even fill up our water glasses. I was so embarrassed for suggesting Giordano's to the group to go eat! I will never go there again for dinner!…
A solid example of (one type of) Chicago-style pizza.
Giordano's is actually the second stuffed pizza I had when I moved to Chicago, but it's the first place I think of when I want stuffed pizza. Some consider Giordano's a chain, and it is, but so
what? It offers consistent quality, good sauce, good crust, good cheese and good toppings. If you haven't had stuffed pizza, what are you waiting for? Odds are a Giordano's location is close to you. Well, if you live in Chicago anyway. A friend in California misses Giordano's like nothing else in the city and we always go there when he comes to visit. This applies to stuffed pizza only. Their thin crust is the same awful Chicago-style thin crust you find everywhere.
The Evanston Giordano's (and possibly others) also offers a great lunch special: soup or salad, pop and a baby pizza. They make the pizzas in advance, so they don't take the typical 30+ minutes. It's a lot of food, not a lot of time and the price is reasonable.
If you haven't been to Giordano's before, I recommend going (but only for the stuffed pizza). If you have, then you know what I'm talking about and will be heading back.…
