Spectacular Seafood
by jblt2002
Everything is great. The firecracker shrimps and blackened calamari appetizers are wonderful. We're very pleased with the main course as well (trout and grouper). We'll definitely go back again and again soon.
- Pros: Great food, decent service
- Cons: valet parking takes a long time
Evnaston's version of Red Lobster
by foodcritic799
Mediocre at best. Scallops were overdone, gumbo was bland, but the beer was cold and that saved the evening. Probably too much on the menu to really specialize in great tasting entres. It's probably a real treat for NU students, but for a more mature palate, this place is just average.
- Pros: enthusiastic servers
- Cons: chain rest. food

I have been here on several occassions for lunch, dinner etc. and overall it is pretty good (the food as well as the service). i don't ever remember the restaurant getting too crowded.
My friends call me a cake connoiseur and their Chocolate Drunk Cake.....is worth trying!
- Cons: Parking
An extensive seafood menu and kitschy, family-friendly atmosphere draw a crowd to this longtime Evanston favorite.

The Scene
With nautical memorabilia on the walls and a big fish tank in the dining room, Davis Street Fishmarket has a casual, comfortable atmosphere that helps pack in customers nightly. Tables are tight in the low-lit dining room, which buzzes with families and dates; if you want to stretch out, grab a high table in the more laid-back bar area.
The Food
Dozens of seafood options range from lobster and crab to lake trout, bluefish, scrod and other catches of the day. Half a dozen succulent jumbo shrimp make up a satisfying cocktail, and stone crab claws are fresh and meaty. Crab wontons and crab cakes are other starter choices. Main plates include favorites like zippy, peppery blackened shrimp served on a skewer, and Alaskan king crab legs, substantial and delicious with a little butter.
- Pros: casual and comfortable
- Cons: so-so servicehit-or-miss food

fun casual atmosphere, good seafood with specials that change daily. gets a little noisy and seating gets a bit close when crowded.

the food at Davis Street Fishmarket is overall awsome resturant. The server did not seem to be on top of things. the ambience is so interesting and fun to look at. Not having a manger present to see how everything is going to me is very unprofessional. To me the great food makes up for some of cons of the resturant.
- Pros: great food
- Cons: bad service, not clean, no manager present

Great Crab!
by TiffDi
I went to check out the "Crab Bash" expecting a bait and switch menu - but was SO happy when they actually delivered what was promised. We had GREAT snow crab, and plenty of it - all at a price not to be found in the city. The appetizer of steamed mussles were great and garlic-y! My six year old son was well occupied with color-on menus, crayons and kid cups. I was surprised at how packed the place was on a Tuesday. I will be back soon to try the much hailed creole menu!!
Crab Bash rules

My family had dinner here last night. My wife had the tilapia - excellent. I took advantage of the $14.95 crab legs. I was surprised by the quality and the amount of crab I received for that price. It's really a great deal. The restaurant was kid friendly and the selection of seafood was unparalleled.
- Pros: value, quality
- Cons: parking
Kickin' Creole in Chicago
by haileyq
Some of the best cajun/Creole seafood I've had outside of Louisiana! The server was very attentive, gave honest suggestions, and was very friendly without being overbearing. I'd recommend this to anyone, especially those homesick for the South (like me!)
- Pros: Good atmosphere, Many menu options, Great service
- Cons: Parking
