European elegance in the heart of the Midwest.

The Scene
This inn began its life in 1915 as a home for young working women. It is acclaimed for its striking architectural touches, such as the arched windows on the main floor. They are located one level above the street and carry the eye skyward, toward a stone railing encircling the rooftop. The pale stone of the building is complemented by crisp white trim. Today, this property provides comfortable accommodations in classic B&B style.
The Details
The sleeping rooms are a bit on the small side, furnished with brass bedsteads, floral prints and dark woods. But guests probably won't spend a lot of time hiding out, as the real focus here is on the common areas, including the Grand Parlor and the generously stocked formal English Library. Travelers stay here for both the chance to get away and to visit local historical attractions, such as the Grosse Point Lighthouse and the home of suffragette Frances E. Willard.
