Absolutely the best Bohemian restaurant around.............................
by sauerkraut at Citysearch
We have eaten there many, many times and have never been disappointed. Also, have taken our friends there for a delicious meal, and they all agreed that there should be more restaurants like the Czech Plaza. You always get your moneys worth, delicious food and food to take home too. Beside the fact that the best bakery in Berwyn is located just a few blocks away............How can you go wrong.......................
- Pros: Best bargain for your dollar..................
- Cons: Sometimes hard to find a parking place, especially for handicapped people.

This place is a true Bohemian feast, you feel like you are in Europe! Sit back and enjoy the family atmosphere..The roast pork and pork tenderloin are so good, and they serve 1/2 and 1/2...I LOVE IT

DON'T EAT THERE PLEASE!!! I ordered the chicken paprika and GOD only knows what was in there! When we passed by we saw that is was located next to an aminmal hospital... hmmm?.... My boyfriend had the meatloaf and it looked like somthing that was frozen and premade like those T.V dinners . He said it tasted like salsberry steak and a mix of somthing hes never had before maybe dog food. The green beans were definatly from can and the potatoes were instant mashed potatoes from a box (they were the best). Even the waiter felt sorry for us. Don't go, its not worth it no matter how cheap it is.
- Pros: good instant nashed potatos
- Cons: how is the food actually cooked??
Terrible Service and Cold Food!
by jenhf at Citysearch
I was VERY disappointed with the food and the overall service at Czech Plaza. We celebrated my father's birthday there with approximately 35 people and the food was cold and the service was terrible. Our waitresses were non existent and when we asked for extra coffee or more gravy they made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. I do not plan on ever returning to this restaurant after this experience.
- Pros: the pork tenderloin is good
- Cons: Terrible service

This place has great food at great prices that you won't find many other places.. I highly reccommend the liver dumpling soup as well as the duck... they're WONDERFUL. The service there is quick, friendly and worth the visit there. I just ate there again this evening and had a new dessert, "strawberry slice" which was really awesome as well. So go, eat and be merry, and tomorrow you can die(t)
:)
- Pros: service, flavor, value
- Cons: none that I can think of
Best Deal in Chicagoland
by czechchick at Citysearch
The food is delicious, the portions are very generous, the atmosphere is homey and clean, the service is wonderful. Everyone I've taken there has added it to their favorite places to dine. Great for teens on limited budgets who want to treat their dates to anything from ribs, roast chicken, pork tenderloin, roast duck, fresh rye bread, dumplings, cabbage, soups, desserts, and all kinds of sausages. Be prepared to spend very little for two days worth of dinner. No doggie bags, try doggie boxes! They don't take credit cards so that keeps the prices down. Open for lunch and dinner.
- Pros: Great Taste, Large Portions, Very Inexpensive
- Cons: Close Early
Excellent

Excellent food. I had the liver dumpling soup, breaded pork tenderloin with dumplings, sweet/sour cabbage, and kolacky for dessert. Super service as well. Highly recommended. Make sure you go on empty stomach though. "Meat is for the man, bone is for the dog."

I love this place! great food, great prices, great service! Any place that can make liver taste this delicious is my friend... I can't wait for my next trip to Chicago to get a bowl of Liver Dumpling Soup! YUM!
And the service is rare. We were seated on a quaint garden patio that was full of character but a little cool. I was wearing a sleeveless shirt and these people would not rest til they found a jacket so I would be comfortable while I ate. Great place.
- Pros: Great Food, Great Prices, Great Service
- Cons: , No Cons, No Cons
Big portions of Bohemian fare served in a low-key, family-friendly setting.

In Short
Blink and you'll breeze by this cozy kitchen, which sits amidst a bustling strip of laundromats, credit unions and fast food joints. The jovial dining room, which is flocked with wood paneled walls and shelves filled with decorative china, fills with a post-retirement crowd craving home-style meals. The large, affordable menu includes Czech staples like breaded pork tenderloin, svickova (pickled beef in sour cream gravy) and crispy roast duck. All dinners come with accompaniments like rye bread, liver dumpling soup or tomato juice, potatoes or dumplings, sauerkraut, and desserts like strudel or kolachy.

if you want TRUE czech food, this is the place. listen to this, i went to this place with my family (4 members) we were true bohemians in the mood for some homeland cooking. the tab came out to $36 for 4 meals. 4 BIG meals. one person ordered steak and duck with dumplings, soup, and sourkraut. that whole dinner was about $7. 2 other people ordered chicken with dumplings, sourkrat, and 2 gravy boats and soup. $5 dollars. not to mention these HUGE dinners come with free soup and desert. The liver dumpling soup is amazing! bohemian food is very heavy, but thats a good thing. we had huge doggie bags to take home. you just cant stop eating it! if you want an incredibly delicious cheap eat... go to this place, you wont be dissapointed. (btw we did get a czech speaking waitress)
- Pros: delicious food, dirt cheap, saintly service
