Shannon at Dimend Scaasi and a diamond from Crafted By Infinity will be all you need to create the perfect enagagement ring. From the very beginning with a hands on learning experience, Shannon led me through a potentially very stressful and difficult journey with detailed professionalism and very personal attention.

With a quick read of the 4C's before stopping in for an appointment at Dimend Scaasi, Shannon had a wide range of loose stones ready for my viewing. She gave me a very good tutorial on color and clarity and a few hours later, I was extremely comfortable in knowing what I was looking for after being able to see and analyze stones of varying grades. I left feeling no obligation to return and was extremely satisfied with this initial experience which ultimately was my decision to not seriously look elsewhere.

Over the next several weeks, Shannon was able to keep up with my relentless emails asking questions and comparing stones they listed as available on their website. After rejecting several stones for one reason or another, Shannon understood how important the cut quality was to me and went out to find me an Infinity stone (www.craftedbyinfinity com) within my parameters. Once I saw this stone's light performance and brilliance, I understood why it's one of the most saught after diamonds and knew I found exactly what I had been looking for. (Tip: Dimend Scaasi has all of the latest and greatest tools for analyzing a stone's light performance - ask to see images of stones they can get in-house).

Once i had the Infinity stone, the ring design was the next step. I came into this knowing exactly how the ring needed to look. Everything at Dimend Scaasi is made from scratch and hand crafted - so my custom design couldn't have been easier. I was able to give drawings, pictures and verbal instructions on every detail, view wax versions and finally approve it before it went into casting. Turnaround time was less than 1 week after approving the wax - I felt as if I was their top priority.

All in all, I hope anyone who reads this and is looking for a potential retailer for a custom engagement ring will look no further and make an appointment today with Shanon at Dimend Scaasi. I had so much fun with so much flexability and so many options, I never once felt stressed, frustrated or nervous about any part of this process and YOU won't either. Have fun!

I cannot say enough good things about Dimend Scaasi. I worked with Marta and she was extremely knowledgeable and helped me get exactly what I wanted while staying within the budget i had established. She was very patient and helpful throughout the entire process and met with me a couple of times in order to make sure I got the perfect diamond.

Overall i am very glad i went to Dimend Scaasi, Marta and Issac reduced the stress of the process and were vary responsive to my requests and needs. I will definitely be back.

The ONLY place to go for jewelry

This place is a real gem (pardon the pun). Seriously, if you need to buy jewelry in Chicago definitely do yourself a favor and stop by Dimend Scaasi. I have bought my wife necklaces, earrings and rings there and she is always happy and I have always enjoyed my shopping experience (and I normally hate buying jewelry). The service is great and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I have been to some of the other jewelers on Wabash and they just don't compare.

Great place for modern styles and excellent customer service

I was in search of a new setting for my engagement ring and Isaac was a great help with assisting my husband and I find the perfect setting. He took his time showing us countless settings and giving us plenty of time to make our decision without being pushy or trying to oversell us. I hate the boring typical settings that eveyone else has, but they had great modern styles to chose from. We ended up getting a tension setting after his amazing personal testimony about it's simple elegance but secure construction. I've had it for a few weeks now and am completely happy with the ring as well as the service we had with Isaac. I will surely come back to them with all my jewerly shopping needs!

Amazing Selection & Service

I purchased my fiancée’s engagement ring at Dimend Scaasi, and was extremely pleased with the entire process.

When I started looking for an engagement ring, I didn’t know where to begin. It can be a very intimidating process. So, when trying to find a jeweler that I could work with, I did what I usually do and turned to Yelp and a few other forums for recommendations. While I am a first time Yelp reviewer, I have used the service for everything from restaurant reviews to used bookstore recommendations. One of the top choices for other Yelpers was Dimend Scaasi. Even so, I fully prepared myself for having to forcefully fend off pushy, commission oriented salesmen at every turn. At several of the other places that I went, that was indeed the experience, but at Dimend Scaasi, things couldn’t have been more different.

I worked with Shannon, and she was a pleasure to deal with. By the time I met her I already had done a fair amount of research about what kind of diamond I was looking for, so I knew exactly what shape, cut, clarity, color and size that I wanted. Shannon showed me what she had in stock that fit my criteria, which was great, but I still wanted to see more. We set up another appointment, and she promised she could get me the best rocks in Chicago so I could make my decision. During this process, I let her know that I wasn’t going to buy immediately, and also that I was working with a couple of other jewelers. She was very understanding and encouraged me to take as long as I wanted and to visit as many jewelers as I needed to make the right decision.

During the course of the week leading up to my second visit, Shannon was in constant email contact, sending me information on the diamonds she was bringing in to show me. This was a huge time saver, because I could study the list and tell her specifically which ones I wasn’t interested in before I even saw them. When I finally arrived for our second appointment, Shannon had a very nice assortment of diamonds that specifically fit my budget. At one point, I wasn’t sure if I should spend more money for a larger carat size, and Shannon actually talked me out of it…that was definitely something I was not expecting! She placed the rock that fit in my budget next to the larger one, and showed me that to the lay eye one couldn’t tell the difference between the two. Ultimately, after examining diamonds at the other jewelers with whom I was working, it became clear that DS had the best options based on my specifications.

Shannon was also very helpful in picking out the setting and the band for my ring. After telling her about my fiancée’s taste in jewelry, Shannon assembled three or four different options, and then gave me her opinion on each one. It was almost as if she had known my fiancée for years.

In the end, my fiancée LOVED the ring that I purchased from Dimend Scaasi. Shannon’s attention to detail, friendliness, and customer service skills set her far apart from the other shops in the diamond district with whom I dealt. My fiancée and I will absolutely be going back there to purchase our bands, as well as any other jewelry that I may be buying over the coming years. I can’t recommend Shannon and Dimend Scaasi enough.

Best place to shop for your engagemnt ring

I first visited Dimend Scaasi in November last year and met with Alexa. Before my visit I had spent lots of time looking at different websites, comparing prices and selections, learning about the 4Cs, etc. My fiance was nice enough to let me pick exactly what I wanted;-). I knew that I wanted an asscher cut stone, mounted one of their halo settings. She was very patient, knowledgeable and did not try to pressure me into committing to a purchase. I left knowing that I wanted to get my ring from there when we were ready. I tried some more research but my heart was set on the asscher cut at Dimend so I was done looking.

I returned with my fiance early this summer to finalize our selection. While we were there she took the time to show us several stones within our price range, pros and cons of each cut, etc. Alexa did not try to push my fiance into spending more than he planned and was honest with us, nor did she try to push me into picking a stone I didn't like.

Well, my fiance proposed over Labor day weekend and I was just blown away. It is simply stunning!!! Everyone who's seen it says wow! and asks to take a closer look. Most importantly I am excited about our upcoming wedding!:-) We'll definitely be back to pick out our wedding bands and all our future jewelry needs!

For all the reasons above, I strongly recommend Dimend Scaasi and Alexa. You can't go wrong.

Be Careful

So you're on Citysearch because you're tech savvy and you scour reviews before you make any kind of large purchase. I went to this place mainly because of the ratings here which I now believe are less than on the level. Many of the reviewers here sound as though they had some kind of mystical experience. It’s also odd that almost all the 5star reviews here are written by reviewers whose only review is scassi. Scassi also advertises their Citysearch reviews on their website. We wound up waiting two months to get the final ring - two months I spent wondering how there could be so many insanely good reviews - two months I spent emailing and calling the confused sales girl. She was very nice but consistently provided contradictory or misguided information on what ring we were actually getting and where it was coming from. She even requested that we not call but rather use email even though she had somewhat limited command of English which led to many emails beginning “When you say X what exactly do you really mean?” Again, the place is a business and I’m sure some people have good experiences, some mediocre and some bad – but this place is NOT the diamond Shangri-la that the reviews here make it out to be. Once I started reading the reviews again I had to laugh at all the effusive typing. Funny how much I’ve come to depend on reviews.

We had an exceptional experience with dimend SCAASI when we chose my wedding ring. After many weeks of "shopping around" I found my dream setting and stone at thier website. Having just moved to Wisconsin we weren't able to visit th shop in person and needed the ring on a week. Shannon worked around the clock to make sure we got it on time. She assured us we were getting what we saw on line and the quality is outstanding. She keep us in the loop throughtout the entire process. I got my beautiful wedding ring just in time for our dream wedding! We did get it appraised and was valued at what we spent on it, actually slightly more. We will be shopping there again for sure.
