Only second best, now. Louie's out does them!
by WeLovedOurDinner at Citysearch
I have been a loyal Petey's patron for years, but lately the cuts of steak have declined and no matter how I've ordered them, they were a let down, not to mention, far too much gristle. I've since discovered Louie's on 103rd and Cicero. Sorry Petey.
- Pros: Petey and the staff.
- Cons: Too crowded of a setting. The meat has gone downhill.
This is an awsome place. Great food and great atmosphere.

Mike the bartender is great. All the waitresses are awsome, especially Sharon. The food is outstanding, and you don't leave there hungry.
- Pros: Plenty of Food
Great steaks!

We recently had friends in from out of town and took them to the best place -Petey's. We are long time loyal customers. We ordered steaks, pan fried chicken, and pork chops. All cooked to perfection. The service was great. The drinks were awesome- not watered down as you get at other restaurants. We went to the bar after our meal-what a great time we had as always. Over the years, Petey's has not let us down. Thanks Petey!
- Pros: service and great food
- Cons: none
Best steaks and seafood in town.
by tblash at Citysearch
We've been coming to Petey's for years. The appetizers are great - one of my favorites is their saganaki. Love their Grecian style steaks (their extra cut filet is one of my favorites) and seafood - - excellent flavor and incredible portions! I also love their chicken dishes--like the chicken vesuvio and the fried chicken, and the thick broiled pork chops. Another favorite is their baby back ribs -- the most tender in town. When I'm looking for something on the lighter side or a late night snack, one of my favorites is their famous Petey burger --the best burger in town! Everything is so delicious, I always have a hard time deciding what to order.
Great place for carry outs after a long day at work, too! (Sure beats fast food for dinner -- we do about 2 take outs a week from Petey's.)
We also like to hangout at the bar for a cocktail or two to unwind after work -- the bartender is great and the drinks are reasonably priced.
Excellent food! Great prices! Friendly atmosphere --everyone makes us feel at home at Petey's. Great place to entertain out of town guests or business associates.

Best Kept Secret on the SW Side!

This place is awesome and not just because my husband and I had our first date here! The bartender doesn't water down the drinks! The food is cooked to perfection! My husband loves the chopped sirloin smothered in bleu cheese and my favorite is the pork chops (two huge ones -- one of which I bring home for my son). Everything is fantastic! The waitstaff is friendly and helpful! We go here a few times per month and, for two, with drinks, never pay more than $40-$45. By the way, Petey's now has a non-smoking section!!
- Pros: Inexpensive, GREAT food, Good location
- Cons: , Small
Appealingly retro supper club offers old-fashioned dinners at old-fashioned prices.

In Short
Thrift store paintings, Christmas lights and Mediterranean-inspired light fixtures make up the vintage decor, at this throwback restaurant, where the menu reads, "May we suggest a cocktail before and after dinner." The nostalgic menu brims with classic American dishes, from super-crispy pan-fried chicken and bone-in strip steak to shrimp de Jonghe in sherry-garlic sauce. Another retro touch: All dinners include two rounds of relishes, soup or tomato juice, salad, garlic bread, potato, coffee and dessert.

Petey's has been around for years. Most of the establishments have disappeared, but Petey's has stood the test of time. Small menu, but excellent
choices. Also Petey is the cook. Most people who know, enter the back door.
Stuffed!

Petey's never disappoints. I live on the North side and have traveled to Petey's quite a few times because it's always worth the trip. It's just an "old school" restaurant with unbelievable food - and the portions are amazing. For one price you get the relish trays, the terrific garlic bread, soup, salad, your entree and desert. There isn't much to the atmosphere but that's not what you go here for. It's all about the food.

Petey's rocks! They have been around for years. Great food, great times. Great service. It's been a family tradition for years. Petey's cuts of steaks haven't declined. Perfect dinners every time. Over the years, Petey's has been consistent in providing the best. We order the steaks, pan fried chicken, and Petey burgers. Their fries are the best! Love all the extras. We dine in and takeout often . Thanks Petey!
