Not at all what Iexpected....
by chibella
This place was recommended to me by a co-worker. I was a little wary when I saw it was located in a gym, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The facial was AMAZING! Erin was so attentive-she actually sat down with me and talked about all my issues and my routine. she really tried to help me understand my skin and how my lifestyle could effect it. I left feeling really clean, unbelievably relaxed, and skincare saavy. No pressure to buy products- she actually gave me tons of samples and advice to clear up my skin. I will definitely be back!
- Pros: skincare products, facials, music
- Cons: pay parking

massage is good, the facial is terrible
by axm397
The massage was phenomenal - try Heather - she's little but packs a lot of power. The facial was terrible - the girl tried to sell me products pretty much through the whole process. The extraction was a joke - she squeezed a few times and called it a day. A lot of fluff - weak foot rub during the steaming, etc. I could look at a regular mirror and still see the whiteheads in my pores. I wanted a facial to help with that and all I got was moisturizing which I could have done at home. All they do is try to sell their products. They gave me an oatmeal facial which consisted of putting moisturizer on my face then sprinkling raw oatmeal on my face which got into my eyes and nose. The girl spoke in a fake nasal voice the whole time, trying to sound like an expert but mispronouncing words like "salicylic acid", which became "sa-ci-lic acid".
If you are going because you think you have free credit there for joining the gym, think again. My friend and I both got credit at the spa for joining and the spa had NO record of it. We ended up paying full price for our services. They said that they are under different management than the gym so they don't really talk to each other. I even had one of the club managers walk with me to the spa when I joined and I remember her explicitly telling the girl at the front desk to enter my credit at that time. Even with all that, they had no record. I would bring a tape recorder or a video recorder when you join so you can give them evidence. Both the Holmes place management and the spa management seem to have short term memory difficulties.
- Pros: massage was good
- Cons: everything else was terrible, WEAK facial that you could do yourself at home

More soothing than sporty, this health-club retreat hits all the right spots.

The Space
Located in the upscale Holmes Place Health Club, this tiny spa radiates a surprisingly upbeat vibe. Large, modern treatment rooms feature granite floors and are sufficiently swank, though not the least bit stuffy; pleasant, even playful, specialists seem genuinely concerned about client well-being and comfort. Zen music helps you chill, as does the friendly banter you're sure to encounter.
The Services
Knowledgeable professionals expertly render largely straightforward treatments, including massages, European facials, manicures and pedicures. Sports-massage zeros in on problem areas rather than the total body---a bonus for patrons with crazy-tight muscles in need of concentrated attention. Those looking for a lighter approach can choose aromatherapy or Swedish-style rubdowns. Facials get creative with options like the Retro (with alpha beta peel), Men's Urban Defense (featuring a hydrating focus) and Night on the Town (a gentle approach).
mediocre pedicures
by elisasciallo
Nice staff, great massage for a reasonable price. My only disappointment was the pedicure. They do not have pedicure stations with running water, they use portable foot massage machines, like you would use at home. The girls sit on the floor while giving the massage, it just wasn't the true pedicure experience I'm used to. The manager is great and the staff is very nice, they just need to get proper pedicure stations.
- Pros: massage
- Cons: pedicures
