Lunch Experience

by vlhe at Citysearch

Went for lunch 1/10/05 everything was great except for the food. Extremely sand laden sea food dish which came recommended by waiter.

  • Pros: Quaint Decor
  • Cons: Exspensive, Metered parking
5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

AMBROSIAL

by medic357 at Citysearch

The decor was very down scale. The place is small; arrive early, the place gets crowed. Service is excellent. Our server, Sandy, was very attentive, courteous and charming. The food was expensive but well worth it! DELICIOUS!! The pros outweigh the cons.

P.S. Try the YAXUNA (Pan-seared Baby Lamb loin with roasted sweet corn-infused Cumin sauce) it's fantastic!

  • Pros: FOOD!, SERVICE, DRINKS
  • Cons: , small dinning area, decor

Sophisticated Mexican fare in a casual Hinsdale location makes this buzzing restaurant a must-try.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
Colorful sombreros dot the ceiling and a family-friendly crowd gathers at this cozy spot, where the casual atmosphere belies a high-end Mexican menu. Serapes hang on the walls with black-and-white photographs of Mexico.

The Food
Mexican food with an upscale twist. Fresh, moist tamales are filled with crab meat, and a grilled quesadilla comes with jalapeno goat cheese, mango and pine nuts. More goat cheese, this time in chipotle sauce, gives tender, grilled skirt steak an earthy tang; jumbo sauteed shrimp with sweet corn and peppers are fresh and flavorful, nestled in a sweet, smoky sauce over sweet corn risotto. Finish things off with the acclaimed chocolate mousse taco: a small, super-rich serving of thick chocolate ambrosia in an almond cookie taco shell (usually on the specials menu). The more standard lunch menu features tacos, burritos and the like.
