this place stinks
by b2food at Citysearch
I went to this place for lunch with my wife. we order a meat dish to split that sounded great. We ate about half and we both commented that the meat smelled funny. The owner was working as the hostess and we called him over. We did not expect anything other than telling him what we thought about the food. he looked at our plate and said it can't that bad you ate half of it. If you don' t like it leave. WOW. So we did!!!
Excellent food

I decided to try Meson Sabika after reading all the reviews here. I wasn't disappointed. The place is beautiful, the service is good and the food is to die for. When I was done with my meal, I realized that I didn't have my wallet on me. I was so embarrassed and didn't know what to do as this is the first time ever that this has happened to me. I spoke to the manager and to my surprise and delight, he allowed me to leave and call him back with my credit card number when I got to the hotel. I travel the entire country and never have I found such a gesture of trust anywhere. For this alone, they get my highest recommendation and my deepest gratitude.
Best ever!

I've been here many times and always enjoy the food and ambience. Eating out of doors is nice to when weather permitting. Nice place for family gatherings or even a wedding.
Worst Tapas Ever!
by jpauley at Citysearch
Ok has anyone who has ever eaten here had real tapas? For the price of this place take yourself out to the city and eat real tapas it will be a better experience then this place. First of all the "sangria" tasted like syrup, the steak dishes taste like they got the last of the meat from the butcher that was 1/2 price and the chicken was so overcooked it was like eating string. The dishes have no flavor, they are all bland, tapas is suppose to be a flavorful experience. Don't get me started on the empanadas...they were so hard you needed a steak knife to cut. And the atmosphere is so uppity, tapas is about talking and enjoying everyones company, this place feels like a library. The only good thing about this place is the grounds are absolutely beautiful its just such a shame they put this horrible restaurant on it. Do you self a favor go down the street to Macarena Tapas its half the price and 10 times better food! You wont be disappointed!
If you like tapas this is definitely the place to come.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Naperville area. My wife and I like to come here as often as we can. This particular occasion was about two weeks ago and we came with a couple of our close friends. Like usual the service was great and the food was delicious. I've tried pretty much everything here and I prefer the hot tapas but I enjoy them all. A few of my favorite tapas are the Dates wrapped in Bacon, Beef Tenderloin with Sweet Potatoes, Atlantic Salmon with Goat Cheese and baked Goat Cheese with Garlic Bread. They also have great Sangrias that are worth a try.
Classy & Romantic

I like to bring my wife here for special occasions, such as her birthday or our anniversary. We had our wedding reception here, causing Meson Sabika to quickly become my wife's favorite restaurant. The mansion is beautiful and full of history. The atmosphere is classy and romantic and the food is wonderful. There are many great tapas to choose from but the two we always get are the Datiles Con Tocina, which are dates wrapped in bacon and the Champinones, which are stuffed mushrooms. They also offer great sangria, martinis, sherries and wine. This is a great place to come whether you are going on a first date, celebrating a special occasion or hosting an event. You are guaranteed to leave satisfied.
- Pros: Great atmosphere, great food, great service
- Cons: A little on the pricey side
Best Tapas Around!
by YahtzeeGirl at Citysearch
The Meson has a very diverse tapas menu that will please each one of your friends or family. The portions are the perfect size to try a lot of different items from the menu in one visit. The serving staff is top notch, we have never had a bad experience in the 10 times we have eaten there.
We love the restaurant so much that we were married there a couple months ago. All of our guests had nothing be fantastic things to say about the food/service/atmosphere.
Our favorite restaurant in town by far!
- Pros: best sangria in town, great atmosphere
- Cons: the wait time can be somewhat long
#1 Tapas in Chicago?
by MrChicago23 at Citysearch
What a suprise this place was! Told that we were going out for Tapas and this place exceeded my expectations like you wouldn't believe! The food/ drink/ service was tremendous. The decor was top notch too... the restaurant is set in a house. This is a perfect place to go for date night or even a private party. Highly reccomend... could be the best tapas in Chicago!
- Pros: Excellent tapas, sangria, exceptional service, decor
- Cons: none

Great tapas in Naperville
by colinsilveira at Citysearch
The restaurant is located within a white villa in the heart of Naperville. The menu includes excellent tapas which are wonderful for an after work getaway. The paella is great as well but not that authentic. The restaurant again tends to be a little loud and cramped up and wine list can get expensive.
