BEST CHICAGO BRUNCH SPOT
by thenubianbuty
You MUST GO HERE! FIVE STARS!!! You need to get some sort of poached egg here. This isn't the place where you go for pancakes and eggs unless you get the French toast which is HEAVENLY! You need to get out of your shell and try the different things on the menu.
I go her religiously every Sunday. Sometimes there is a wait. I ALWAYS order the Country eggs Benedict (the Vegetarian one ) but the meat one is probably amazing too. I have also tried to Eggs Florentine (with lox) and the Crab cakes Benedict is amazing! Do as i say and you will be there every Sunday too. You can also try one of their breakfast burritos. The wait staff is so fun and nice too. GO GO GO HERE! You will never go anywhere else. Trust me!
- Pros: Vegan and Vegetarian Friendly!!!
- Cons: Cash Only, bit of a wait, pricy but WORTH IT!!!
Great Sunday Brunch
by bethylou10
Definitely worth the wait, which can be quite lengthy if you arrive during peak hours. Free coffee while you wait, though. The menu is huge and has a wide variety of options. I appreciate that they try to use local and organic foods as often as possible.
Great brunch location

Tweet remains one of my favorite places for brunch. The menu is very expansive, and in addition to any great meal you choose, you're also served fruit and delicious bread. The atmosphere is so cute and cozy, and I love the fact that the friendly owner, Michelle, is always making her rounds. Tweet is a great place to take out-of-town family and friends, too. It's so good, in fact, that there's often a wait. But worst case scenario, you can wait next door in Big Chicks where the mimosas and bloody Marys are delicious. Definitely worth checking out.
- Pros: service, drinks, atmosphere
- Cons: cash only, wait time
Creative Brunch Fare, High Prices, CASH ONLY Payment
by asimmishra
The food choices are creative and look great when they come to the table. The taste is about a 7 (not the greatest but definitely above average). The environment is super friendly (great wait staff) and clientelle is pretty diverse and hip.
My biggest groan is that Tweet in this day and age does NOT take credit cards. I have been to Tweet twice but would come more often if they offered more convenient payment choices for customers. The prices are high ($10 - $14 for benedicts, $10 omelettes) so it's not like 2 people can get by on $20 (like at Bialy's Cafe, Sunrise Cafe, or maybe even Kitchn's). An average bill for 2 with coffee is closer to $30 - $35 (with those prices Tweet NEEDS to accept plastic).
- Pros: Cool Uptown Spot, Great Staff, Diverse Clientelle.
- Cons: Cash Only Payment Option is a BIG DOWNER.
One of the Best!

I was so surprised by this resturant. It was far, far more than I expected. From the free mini pastry we received when we sat down, all the way to the end of our meal...it was GREAT. We were there for Sunday Brunch. And, while it was a bit crowded and the service just a tinest bit slow, the food was well worth it. Beautifully presented and delicously executed and portions you won't believe! I will be back and I'll bringing friends!!!
- Pros: great value, great food, friendly
- Cons: small space
Reviews on rude management are dead on.

I wouldn't even know what the food tastes like here, as I didn't even get proper treatment upon my initial phone call.
Today I called to find out if I could get a reservation, and the woman who answered the phone actually said she was far too busy to answer me, that no one else would help me either, then hung up on me. As a person who regularly recieves business guests from out of town,I like to call ahead to plan ahead.
From now on, my plans include losing this number, and recommending that anyone tries anywhere else but here.
- Pros: none.
- Cons: horrible treatment, bad phone ettiquette, no diplomacy or tact
An eclectic Uptown crowd fills this cute and cozy space for family-friendly brunch and romantic dinners.

The Scene
A laid-back mix of gay and straight couples and families converge at this cafe from the owner of neighborhood tavern Big Chicks next door. The long, narrow room is a tight squeeze, but mirrors, art and whimsical blue light fixtures make it cheerful and cozy. Brunch is crowded and lively; dinner nights (Wednesday-Saturday), it's low-lit, quiet and downright romantic.
The Food
WIth organic three-egg omelettes, breakfast burritos, bacon, chicken sausage and even Jell-O, Tweet offers an extensive menu of tasty breakfast favorites. Buttermilk pancakes should come on a forklift: three thick, crispy-edged flapjacks served with maple, strawberry or blueberry syrup. Omelettes are stuffed with mushrooms, sausage, asparagus and more; breakfast burritos are available on flour, spinach or tomato-basil tortillas with a variety of toppings. At dinner, the changing menu features simple, delicious plates like Lyonnaise salad, pork tenderloin with mustard pears, and goat cheese and wild mushroom crepes.
- Pros: friendlycomfortabledelicious breakfast fare
- Cons: limited hoursservice can be slow
Good things come to those who wait
by kellyroark
I'm so excited that Tweet has opened in Uptown. It has incredible food (mostly organic), attentive and knowledgeable wait staff, and a great European cafe atmosphere. Bring your own wine and have a fairly inexpensive gourmet dinner! Yes, sometimes there can be a wait, but it's worth it!
- Pros: great food, delicious brunch
Terrible service
by msh
The food here is excellent, but not worth the exceptionally rude and ignorant service. They have two hour limits on their tables, which we were never told until the owner came over to inform us we were "over the limit and you need to leave". Well then, I will just leave and never return! Not one to complain normally at restaurants, I was deeply offended by their lack of diplomacy, mortified that I sugggested the place, and DO NOT recommend it in any way.
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: , very cold inside!
