A restaurant with GREAT food and quiet atmosphere! Good Find!
by missjenna1
My fave - the butternut squash Ravioli. DELISH. Portions are a little small - but the food is really good. Lovely looking restaurant with a QUIET atmosphere, which is hard to find downtown. Would definitely recommend.
- Pros: Excellent Food, Quiet atmosphere,
- Cons: Small portion size
would not go back

very dissipointed went with one other couple before a show and only one of us enjoyed there meal my steak was way overcooked i ordered med. rare my friends husband ordered a soft shell crab pasta that had a very strange taste i think it was a little burned we my friend wanted a gless of wine with dinner and never got the chance the server was no where to be found we were not offered coffee even though we ordered dessert that was ok but very overpriced ice cream sundae all in all not worth the money would not go back to many good restaurants in chicago.
Amazing atmosphere

After the last 7 years of constantly battling the "noisiest" restaurants, at last we found a place to have an incredible meal but we could also hear each other speak! We have been to all of them, only to find ourselved screaming over each other. Not here! The environment is just decadent--quiet and beautifully decorated. The staff wasn't bothering us every 3 minutes. I would have given them 5 stars except that our waitress could have been a little nicer--introducing herself, explaining the specials etc. But if you've never visited Chicago and want a treat that won't cost you the 150 per plate fee--this is it!
Even the people we entertained said "that was the best evening ever and also wanted to go back!"
Oh--save room for dessert, the Profiteroles and the chocolate sampler was amazing!
Fantastic Food; Shady Service?
by lizarddork
This restaurant was recommended to us by the awesome and friendly cab driver, Luis, who brought us in from the airport. He was right - the food was delicious, no question!! Really delectable combinations (goat cheese and candied walnuts complimenting several dishes) and pretty unique choices. The prices ($18-$35 for entrees) well reflected the quality of the meals. HOWEVER, our server seemed to pull a fast one. When we ordered our dinners, he asked if we'd like THE soup or salad with them... Considering that Italian restaurants typically provide bread and salad with your entree coupled with the voice inflection of the question, we both assumed soup or salad were included. Had we be given the information that the salads weren't included in the price of the meal, we would have still asked for them - but when the surprise extra $16 showed up on our bill we were really turned off by the seemingly shady move of our server.
EXCELLENT food, but beware if you like ethics.
Delicioso!

Great food and wonderful ambiance. Extensive wine list at a good price. Service was a bit too standoffish - but a wonderful meal made up for it. Definately recommend it!
Great date night
by aeh5458
Even though my date and I were eating during the pre-show bustle, we were still seated right away and the service was great. Our waiter was on the ball and professional. Portions were small but the quality was high. The setting was romantic but our table was squished in between other tables which took away from some of the intimacy. I would definitely go here again, but I would request a more secluded table.
Romantic Dining

This resturant was fantastic. Great foodand drinks. Customer service wonderful our waitress was great my good friend got proposed to and the waitress put her twist on it by putting the ring in the middle of a plate of chocolate covered strawberries. it was the perfect day. the whole resturant was perfect I highly recommend it to everyone.
- Pros: Valet parking and it was reasonably only 10 bucks.
It's Just OK
by tink32
I wouldn't rant and rave about the food because I thought it was average at best. I thought there was some sort of complimentary ravioli? If so I didn't get any. There was a complimentary roll that was hard as a brick, but add some soft butter and I guess you've got something. The chicken was good but the pasta was bland.
Loved it!

Went there Saturday night with my sweetie & two other couples. AWESOME and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The food was great with wonderful portions for the price. The ambiance was very romantic and the service was second to none! Our server was very knowledgeable about everything from the food to the wine to the dessert and was able to provide "snippets" about anything and everything we mentioned. I would absolutely recommend Trattoria 10 for a fine dining experience. We will definitely be going there the next time we are in Chicago.
- Pros: great food, ample portions
What a great Restaurant
by jj3444
I have been coming to Trattoria No.10 for the last 8 years, and still find it one of the best restaurants in the windy city. I even by pass the near north side to go downtown, for an exceptional evening. From food to service, this is consistantly one terrific diningroom. Pre-theater dining is a given here, however, if you and yours want an evening out, go after 7:30pm and enjoy a relaxing night out. Valet is a confienient way to avoid parking problems.
- Pros: Food, Service, Local
- Cons: In-Loop/get over it, Basement, No window Tables
