Tamago Sushi
by anngable at Citysearch
Been there a couple times, like the egg sushi very much. The egg tasted sweet and has many layers. They make their own wasabi with natural fresh ingredient, it's not like the one made with powder, it actually has a mild taste, and taste good with a little bit of soy sauce.
We also like the duck wings marinated with some kind of sauce, but it's so good you won't forget it after the first bite.
Lastly, try the banana ice cream dessert with cinnamon sprinkled on it.
If you need explanation of the menu, ask for the manager. Others are not so fluent in explaining. Overall, service is good (they give warm towel, feels like taking a flight) and the food is delicious.
- Pros: good parking, friendly staff
- Cons: need English menu
Wow!! The best sushi!

I've eaten at more than a dozen sushi places in the Chicago region, and many, many more overseas (including Japan).
Without a doubt, Sakuma makes the best sushi in the area. This gentle man makes his own soy sauce and takes immense pride in the quality of his fish. He refuses to sell anything that is not up to snuff, and prepares the rice and each piece of sushi with pride. His assistants have been highly trained by him and also do a fantastic job.
In addition, Sakuma carries some unusual fish and shellfish (such as awabe) that are hard, if not impossible to find, at other establishments.
Sakuma's is fantastic and is well worth the drive to Streamwood!
- Pros: Oustanding fish, Skill, Service
- Cons: None
