Goodwill-esque

The pungent odor of mothballs almost knocked me off of my feet as I entered this dimly lit "boutique." I'd heard of Duomo from a friend (who shall remain nameless to protect his identity... and fashion reputation). It came highly regarded, so I decided to check it out. Stumbling over ill-placed racks of 21-Jump St.era suits, overcoats, and paisley ties, I ambled through the store in shock. Pile after pile of Goodwill rejects stared forlornly at me, as if they knew this was the place where clothes go to die. I even saw a pair of tie-dyed jeans. Yes, I saw a Burberry raincoat. I may have seen an Yves St-Laurent jacket. Bear in mind, though, that those clothiers have been around for the better half of a century. Evidently, "designer" is the only criteria- not stylish or current. You'd have better luck at the Salvation Army. And you might even save yourself a few dollars, because what the merchandise lacks in desirability they more than make up in price.

The merchandise is mostly less than two years old and well-organized. Other name-brand finds include Diesel jeans, leather jackets, Zenya and Jil Sander dress shirts, and ties by Hugo Boss and Charuet.
