very unique

by FamousAnus

I have eaten here twice. The food both times was outstanding and was served uniquely! The Passionfruit Souffle [sp?] and the banana dessert is to die for. Some apetizers and desserts need slight assembly! Which is fun! I don't quite know how to explain it other than they had great plating. Their thai food was much different than any other thai restaurant I've been too. It had a different fresher flavor. It was a cozy nicely decorated environment.

  • Pros: food, plating, environment, service
  • Cons: parking

Worst Hostress

by tliny

I have always been a food lover, enjoy a great meal either with friends or by myself. From New York and had a decent exprience at Vong midtown, I decided to give this one a try to while on a business trip.

What a mistake! I have never felt so humiliated by a hostess. Was told that the dining area doesn't have any table for one and suggested to sit in the bar area as it offers the same menu.

I waited for 5 minutes before she pretentiously noticed my presence and rudely implied to help myself. Not until I layed my backpack on the booth chair, she commented that the table was reserved.

Although I never got the chance to criticize the food, was glad that I walked out of it. I went to next door called Vermilion, an Indian Latin restaurant. What a day and night experience, one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to.

If you love CABBAGE...

by seelephile

I've been here several times and enjoyed myself. But last week I had the chef's special and honestly, $20 for a small bit of fish and a big plateful of cabbage is not what I'm looking for when I go out. Not that it was bad tasting, I just couldn't believe they'd serve that dish in a restaurant. That being said, the curries are good, and the appetizers & deserts are very good, although far more American than Thai. The drinks are also very good, especially if you have a sweet tooth. I would definetely recommend this restaurant but stick to items on the regular menu as the chef lacks inspiration when he's left to his own devices.

  • Pros: Drinks, appetisers, ambience
  • Cons: Strange specials

Just the same old generic US version of suedo asain whatever

by britcrit

Skip it and find somewhere in any way authentic. Staff had no clue. Duck pancakes looked like Pita bread ..should be very thin not to mask flavours.

Decor looked like PF chang/opera/Big Bowl etc etc have some imagination please..

Some silly shpeil about Asian/French/Thai influence. Rubbish!

  • Pros: Conference winner
  • Cons: Nothing authentic or new

I like going here a lot

by pc2time

I've been to Vong's about 4 times and have always had fun. It used to be a lot closer to where I lived, but I still go there. Service is great and food is pretty good quality. I actually re-met an old college mate of mine there, so that adds to it too. REALLY nice appetizers.

  • Pros: GREAT appetizers

Sooooo Good....

by mildlyamusing

Of all the Jean Georges restaurants, why does this one have to be so far from NYC...My girlfriend and I ate here during our trip to Chicago this summer...the food was some of the best I have ever tried...the panaang curry was awesome and the pad thai rocked...the drinks were strong and tasty...even if it's non alcoholic the raspberry lemonade was terrific...the deserts, while tiny, were great too...for a moderately upscale place, the prices were great too...I would go again and again...if i wasn't a thousand miles away...i guess delivery is too much to ask...

Great food, great service

by msenczi

I loved this place!! The atmosphere was romantic and modern. The wait staff knew the menu and were able to answer the many questions we had. Food was served quickly and was fantastic! Dessert was a little to expensive, I think. Nine dollars for a little lava cake is hardly worth it! Overall great dining experience.

  • Cons: price

I LOVE VTK!

by satch123

The ambience is very nice and the food is excellent! If you want to try a little of everything, definitely get the 'per person' menu. The mixed drinks are also yummy and quite exotic. Plus, it's not too pricey.

Amazing Value

by padgemi

This place has excellent food, excellent service, and is surprisingly affordable. If you like it spicy, I highly recommend the hot red curry beef (divine!)

  • Pros: taste, location, service
  • Cons: They don't have one in my hometown
