Irish, my butt!
by arcook
Usually when you go to an Irish restaurant you expect two things, friendly staff and good Irish food. You will get neither at Dublin?s Pub. Now, if you would like non Irish food served by a rude non Irish staff then this is your place. There was a time when you could sit for hours, eat and drink until your hearts content. Last time?and I mean last time I was at Dublin?s Pub they seated someone else at our table before we finished our meal. No kidding!
- Pros: I don't need to go back.
- Cons: You can go someplace else.
Great late night, or just good dinner...
by alisonwndrlnd
I've lived above this joint for two years. I order there on a regular basis, and would not complain about the food. I have never had a problem with a dish there in the two years me and my husband have been going there. I used to go there late night for food before going home, or stopping in for one last drink before heading home. The crowd is always a weird show-mostly I think because of the location. I never bat an eye with anything I see there, because it seems that I've seen just about everything. I must say, that I don't go there friday or saturday nights to drink, but it does get quite crowded. Needless to say, I do love this place-and their food for a pub is very good.
- Pros: good food, fun atmosphere, weird scene
- Cons: sometimes overcrowded and loud
NOT GOOD FOOD
by ChefJared
Burger was over cooked, server was short with our table and we were over charged for our dinner. I live less than a block away and there are so many places to eat in chicago I would never go back to this one.
STAY AWAY...

I have always enjoyed Dublins until last year on my 30th birthday. I stopped by with my bro and ordered food and a pint of Guinness. The bartender didnt seem to be in the best of moods and asked us to leave?! It was crowded and I dont know about any of you but if Im not wanted somewhere I dont want to be there. So we kindly obliged and left. As I was walking through the door I was pushed down to the street. I got up and noticed 2 Chicago Officers standing there. My brother came out with the food and was not happy. I told him its not a big deal and suggested we leave quickly. Somthing wasnt right. As we are getting in the cab my bro had a words for Chicagos finest. Next thing I know we are both hand cuffed in front of Dublins sitting "Indian Style" on the curb. While cuffed the police officers were calling us racial slurs and maced us repeatedly. We were arrested for Trespassing. Chicago PD and Dublins have some sort of relationship. Based off the reviews I have read if you have a problem with their service or food I strongly suggest you keep it to yourself and just leave. Little scary in there.

food and drinks late night. however, rude and physically violent wait staff, too. busboys work as bouncers/boxers at this place looks like. i was physically hurt by one, but not much i could do right now. illegal immigrants are not in the "sysytem" unfortunately. what kind of messy place do these place come and act as if they own the country, the city? for god's sake, once again, time to vote republican.
Great place for a tourist

A wonderful place to stop in and have a quick bite while wandering through Chicago. As one reviewer already mentioned the corned beef and cabbage was incredibly good and inexpensive (of course it is corned beef and cabbage). Good atmosphere and a great place for people watching.
BEST NACHOS EVER!
by ljulietg
This little dive on the corner of Maple and State street is the most pleasant surprise of any restaurant I've tried in Chicago! Although this hole-in-the-wall type of bar is nothing fancy to look at, it boasts an awesome menu (which has never failed to please!) For a bar, the service is fast and friendly. The nachos are delicious, as well as their Dublins Salad (which has avocado, cucumber, hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, fresh mozzarella, and chunky tomatos). Portion sizes are large but are so good you won't want to split!
Great for dinner as well as late-night,post-bar food!
- Pros: AWESOME FOOD
- Cons: BUSY BAR, SLIGHT WAIT
Best Pub...

This is my favorite bar in Chicago...overall. Good food, good people and good atmosphere. Stays open late, too. I recommend Dublins to everyone...new and old to Chicago.
OK to dine in, forget delivery
by 61378
This place is in my neighborhood, so it's convenient to grab a something quick, but the people who work there are honestly rude. i am assuming they think they can be, because of the area they are in - they think people will continue to come, which is probably true but if i were them i would considering having at least average costumer service. the food is pretty good for bar food, but my main gribe about dublins is that they should decide whether they deliver or not. i have never heard of a place that decides to deliver when they feel like it, and if by chance say "yes we are delivering" - they always forget something, bring you the wrong thing or forget about your order so you need to call back and remind them, then by the time it gets there its cold. major disappointment. So all in all, if you want to grab some good bar food, and people watch, check it out but dont bother on delivery if you live in the neighborhood and want something quick and easy. It turns about to be anything but easy. Either way they should keep up with the times, and get an online menu finally.
