another beef stand without decent beef

i herd this place rocks yea right! im not into pom and circumstance but l love my beef made right since im italian i wanted a beef w/mozz and i get a so called thing with govt' cheese the meat looked like my grandpa's legs and it was over salted the fries blowed so i knew i just wasted my hard earned 15$ on shlock my advice go to al's or dukes in bridgeview

Best Italian Beef Sandwich in the US

We're pretty sure, anyway - it was awesome. The shop is tiny and the guys behind the counter are characters. Lose the snobby attitude if you have one - they won't stand for it, and neither will the rest of the patrons. This is the kind of place that people frequent - once you go, you want to go back. Get your beef with sweet or hot peppers - we can't decide which is better.

I had the turkey sandwich here once and it was fantastic! I think it had about 8 lbs. of meat in it.

Look to the Right at all the Best of Citysearches

The Italian Beef in Chicago is like the Cheesesteak in Philly. There will be five different places saying they've got the best one, when there is really only one place. For the cheesesteak, that's Pat's. In Chicago, the Italian Beef lives at Mr. Beef. I went looking for an Italian Beef and I saw a lot of posers but no real italian beef stands. When you get to Mr. Beef, it looks like a place that slings high quality Italian Beef. No frills, no accoutrements. Dudes slinging beef and talking trash: the sign of quality. The pictures on the wall at the Orleans location are also a good indication that you're in for something magical. The sandwich was magical and I didn't even get it done right (I'm not a hot pepper person). Juicy, tender, packed with meat, and well seasoned. I can't give it enough complements. I also enjoyed the fries: thin and crispy and didn't need ketchup, which is a veritable trifecta for me. I had been hungry since morning and I'm good to go. If the sandwich was any larger, I'd say it was too big. Mr. Beef= a Chicago Establishment. I look forwards to eating many more beefs there.

Best Beef Sandwich, Best Rib-Eye Steak Sandwich, and Best Burger...All at one place? Yes it's true !!! Forget about all the other beef joints...This is the best place (in the city of Italian Beef), to eat the best beef sandwich of all. A "no brain-er", and a "no doubt-er"...Mr. Beef on Orleans is by far the best. While all the other joints are skimping, and selling a sandwich that wouldn't fill up a 6 yr-old, Mr Beef still piles it on....(The way Italian Beef was made to be eaten) !!!

And not only is it the right amount...It' truly seasoned to perfection, delicious and tasty. Just the right spices, and just enough of them make this the best Italian Beef in Chicago. Period.

You also might want to try the amazingly tender and deliciousCharbroiled Rib-Eye Steak Sandwich, and the fantastic Char Brioled Hamburgers. Whatever you order ....You won't be disappointed...Not at "Mr. Beef"!!! I Rate This A Perfect 10

Mr. Beef - Jay Leno is RIGHT!

I am not a native, but I commute to CHicago weekly from Colorado. As such, my new hobby is trying all the restaurants I can! I went here after reading about Jay Leno's endorsement.. Well, Jay is right. The Beef Sandwich is simply the best.. The place is a classic "dump with great food" - my favorite kinda place! :-) The bread is great, the peppers are perfect and that BEEF!! Go during the lunch rush and enjoy looking at all the pictures of Jay and his fellow celebs on the walls of the place.

Best Beef in Town

Calling myself a Chicagoan entails that I have had my fair share of Italian Beef and Italian Sausage Sandwiches. Mr. Beef is Chicago's choice. The best of the best. The secret is in the bread, not too chewy or crunchy, just right. Throw on some of chicago's finest Beef and top it with some Giardianera (hot peppers for the 708'ers), that's what I'm talking about. Good stuff, good price. Can't go wrong with Mr. Beef.
