Great Sports Bar
by Trib at Citysearch
This place is directly between US Celluar and Wrigley, so both Sox and Cubbies fan can eat and enjoy the place. BEST french onion soup you can ever ask for! Service is fantastic. If you have a particular game you want to watch, they will take care of you and put it up.
- Pros: Sports stuff
- Cons: Cubs stuff
$4.50 for a PBR...Are you kidding me?
by cyclechicago at Citysearch
Now please know that I like this place to a large degree...Friendly waitstaff/bartenders, but come on! Smithwich's for $5.50 is a bit steep, but understandable. So my next beer is a local brew - Goose Island's Honker's Ale - also $5.50. So I just wanted to see what the PBR would be...$4.50 and it is in a can. I visited on a Monday night and wasn't that busy all around. The food is average at best and I will have a hard time returning on a regular basis.
- Pros: cold beer, friendly staff, good selection
- Cons: are you kidding...Prices in Chicago on a quite Monday night should at least be a draw.
They always put my Saints game up on an HD for me
by jimrittenberg at Citysearch
Video on demand is their motto they told me. I go to Mother Hubbards on Sunday to watch the Saints on big screen HD tv. I get kidded a lot by the help for cheering my Saints and that makes it fun. I like their Ribs and the thin crust sausage pizza. $4.50 a pint for beer is reasonable for Hubbard St, most place are 6 bucks or so.
I was sent to Mother Hubbards a long time ago by the bartender at Harry Carays. I liked Harry Carays bar too, but no Saints on the screens. Mother Hubbards had every NFL game on in HD. A good local spot
- Pros: All the Games-full food menu- sports minded staff- price are ok
- Cons: gets crowded on game days- not much free parking
Discrimination central... Non-Chicagoans beware!

A few friends and I wanted to stop in Mother's Hubbard's after the Superbowl on Sunday. We were all out at a restaurant, didn't drink too much during the game, being a Giants fan from NJ, I wanted to hold off on partying to see if they won. We walked to Mother's Hubbard's to celebrate, the manager was bouncing and when he saw my giants hat before we even opened our mouth, said he thought we were wasted and couldn't be allowed in. We thought he was kidding, and questioned what made him think so to which he just shrugged and then moved aside and we thought he was kidding and walked in. Then most of the bar was in fact wasted, went to get 3 beers at the bar and the bartender wouldn't serve us and I said why, and he knew we weren't wasted but said he was told by the manager he couldn't serve us. So we left, and found another bar that was welcoming to Giants fan and out of towners. I've lived in Chicago for 4 years and had never been discriminated against because I was from NY/NJ area but had heard that it happens in Chicago from a number of people...just didn't think it would of happened the night they won the Superbowl.
My favourite bar/lounge in the city.

Best bar!
by goddess728 at Citysearch
This is by far my favorite bar to come to when I visit Chicago. I went for the first time in October 2006, and have been returning since. The bartenders are awesome and so are the management and door staff. They remembered me from my first visit, which was great because it was 6 months before. You can't beat service like that. Food wise, unfortunately, I have only had the nachos there, but they were great! The kitchen stays open late, which is a perfect cure for late night hunger pangs. It does get busy late, but that just shows you how much people enjoy coming here. It fills with service industry people as they all get off work, and the crowds have always been friendly. I live in SC and even though I was the only one requesting it, they put on a game for me. Gotta love a place like that. I would definately recommend this place, and can't wait for my next trip to Chicago just so I can go back.
IF YOU LOVE SPORTS AND WANT A REAL SPORTS BAR THIS IS YOUR DOMAIN! ;-)

If there is a game on it's being shown at Mother Hubbard's and the staff is so nice and willing to change any of the 40+ t.v.'s for you. I didn't know which way to look. My boyfriend and I played pool and enjoyed watching the Sox game. They even turn the sound on so you can hear it!! I thought it was an amazing sports bar for sports fans. Not only did they have local games they had all the games it seems. Any game that was being played was on soccer, tour de France, lacrosse...I mean how can you go wrong with an establishment like that. OH and the food was delicious. The wings alone were a meal they are huge! To the sports fan out there it's a must see.
Overpriced and overcooked
by cbroeder at Citysearch
This was probably my worst food eating experience in Chicago. If Chicago is known for their food, the tourists are going to leave quickly if they enter this establishment. It was awful - and that's putting it nicely. There is not one nice thing I can say about the place. First, the server skipped over our table and went to help someone who came in after us. Then we ordered buffalo wings - instead of wings, they should have been called 1/2 chickens. It was gross, impossible to pull apart and you could just hear the poor chickens scream as we had to pull apart the limbs. It says Citysearch voted it Best Wings - I would vote it Worst Wings and trust me...I love wings and eat them often. Moving on...if you order soda, there are no free refills - seriously how cheap is this place! And we were charged $.50 for sour cream on a baked potato when NOTHING comes on it. Otherwise, our food was overcooked. Even the fries were nothing to write home about. The service was mediocre at best - she never came over to ask how everything was, which was probably good on her part because I would have told her the truth. We both had the rotissere chicken, which was completely overcooked with 10 year old corn on the cob and terrible bread. Overall, this was the worst and I'm sad I actually gave them some money. The only good thing about this experience was that I got to leave.

Disgusting liqour-My friend and I bartend in the industry and no our liqour was not right
The jack did not taste like jack and the bacardi either. We thought it may have been the coke, glass, or ice, or glass cleaner, but when asked for it straight in a plastic cup we realized it had to be the jack.
Stick to bottle beers if you go here!
Plus there was an extra tip added to my credit card that i did not write in
I may have looked drunk and easy to fool but I was not this is illegal and unfair make sure u keep your receipts so you have proof if you do decide to go
hundred dollars for what
by kobiwyo at Citysearch
Let me preface this with if you want to watch sports and eat great wings this is the place. However, our server was the worst I have every had. Being a thirty something I am not new to the scene. She was awful, other than the wings the food was not good and SLOW. We had a burger, two order of wings, one beer and cokes our tab was over 100.00 dollars. Poor service, below average food and an astronomical bill leads to a sour taste. Try Harry Carry's for that price it is awesome.
- Pros: plenty of sports
- Cons: , poor service
