Very disappointed. We hired this company to handle our complex and frankly are very disappointed. They are unresponsive and lack any leadership. It took months to get our accounting up and still isn't correct. Calls take forever to be answered. We have had numerous complaints from residents that calls and requests are never answered. Collections with them are a joke. They do virtually nothing except send the board a list of those overdue and appear to wash their hands of the problem. Their salesman sings a nice tune but even he doesn't return emails. If your complex runs like a top and has no problems they might be OK. But if you are expecting them to assist with the issues most complexes have they are useless, avoid them!…
Hillcrest Property Management.
Poor Management! This company has been managing the condo located at 2127 N Harlem Ave, Chicago for two and one-half years. The only up-keep they have done on or in the buildings are the ones I
reported to the City of Chicago Building Violations. I too, have a leaking bathroom ceiling from the upstairs tenants. The owner does not live in the building. Management want fix it. I currently have a violation on the building for that. (Check it out on the web).
I received a coupon booklet in the middle of March 2012 with an increase in my assessment fee effective February 2012 indicating that I owe additional money for February and March 2012 without anything in writing from the Board of Directors or other Unit owners. Scott Millard, manager informed me that there was nothing in writing. I called Joel Garson, owner and left a message on his recorder telling him about Scott's shoddy management. He never call back! I then called and talked to his assistant Jan, telling her the situation and asking Joel to call me back. As of this writing, he has not called me back!
I received a notice in the mail last week reminding me of my past-due amount for Feb and March 2012.
I have had to take this management to court. I have not taken them to court regarding my bathroom ceiling. However, I did have my lawyer to write them a letter asking them to fix my bathroom celing. They ignored the letter. They have excellent yard people!
Scott is a liar! He is dishonesty! This company brings to my mind the way of gangsters! Nothing in this review is a lie. (Check out the web for the violations) Use this company at your peril!

Poor management.
Lack of response to emails or requests. Had a water damage issue with a unit owner who happens to be on the board. She did not reside on the property and management would not provide me with her
address to send corespondence b/c she was on the board. Yet my address is common knowledge.
Management says this is between unit owners but yet would not assist…
Very poor management!!. I have not had the experience of having another property management company, but my dealings so far with Hillcrest have not been good. Our property manager Carol, is horrible at returning phone calls. She's returned my phone call ONCE for the TEN+ times I've called. And this was over the course of several months. Since 2004, our association fees have risen by 30% with NOTHING to show for it! There is another issue going on that I'm not going to comment on, because its not finalized, but let's put it this way. Very shady practices by Hillcrest, with promises being made but failed to be kept. Avoid them like the plague!!…
Great service!. Historically, my dealings with this company have been pleasant and productive without fail. The staff are always very friendly and helpfull regardless of any requests I've made over the years. Emergency situations were handled effectively and in a very timely manner. My only regret was not knowing to recommend them to my last association. A+ People!…
They suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. They treat Homeowers and renters like crap and just sit back and collect our money and get nothing done to the property. They are one big joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Worst of the Worst. Service is terrible. Jerry is a terrible and mean person. nothing seems to get done. if you go to the meetings and inquire about stuff, they give you a run around answer. If you call their office, they never return your calls. They pick on certain homeowners and specifically give them violations. The board members are clueless, uneducated, and naive to how an association is run. I would not be surprised if all the board members are getting kickbacks, especially the management.…
TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUISTED. THE HILLCREST MANAGEMENT COMPANY IN LOMBARD HAS PUT US SO FAR IN DEBT. WE DO NOT GET OUR BUSHES TRIMMED, OUR TREES TRIMMED NOR CAN WE HAVE OUR SIDEWALKS SHOVELED BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS BEING DONE WITH THE MONEY. WHEN YOU GO TO THE BOARD MEETINGS AND REQUEST SPECIFICS, THEY DON'T HAVE THEM AND YOU NEVER SEE THEM. THEY DO NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS NOR EMAILS. IN 1999 WE WENT FROM $72.00 PER MONTH ASSOCIATION FEES TO THIS YEAR OF $150 A MONTH. WE HAVE NO CLUB HOUSE, NO POOL, NO NOTHING. SO WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING. OUR BOARD KISSES THEIR BUTT THAT IS WHY THEY GET AWAY WITH DOING WHAT THEY DO OR LACK OF DOING WHAT THEY SHOULD DO. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
