User Reviews for Multiplex Clubs

Just joined this club as a multi-branch member. Very dissatisfied. It's an okay "do-it-yourself" gym, but for the price I'd investigate other options first. Staff haven't a clue re customer service--surly, gossipy, "trainers" point to an instruction manual re use of machines, lack of available staff, knowledge deficits re exercise basics. Add to it unclean lockers, dirty towels UNDER THE COMPUTERS, wet/dirty towels in the showers at most of the clubs I've been to and you get the picture. Has made for a less-than-motivating experience for this newcomer. Also, don't be fooled by the "open 24 hrs". If you read the fine print, you'll find that they're only open M-TH for 24 hrs, something they didn't state prior to membership. Cost me $11 for 15 mins in unreimbursed parking to find out. Rrrgggh, these folks don't have a clue. Go elsewhere for your money. PS---Are all those 3/15/05 reviews really legit or management ploy for ratings? From the above experience, I'd guess the latter.

I'm speaking for the Gold Coast location. Although it is an okay club and I have generally no bad things to say about the equipment, the treatment towards current members is horrible. Recently, their classrooms went under construction without notifying us (or the teachers) and when we showed up for class we were greeted by a sign. It took a week for them to put up a sign that we couldn't attend for an additional 2 weeks. When management was approached, they refused to compensate anyone for the inconvenience, suspend membership during the remodel, or even admit their communication was lacking. I was even told that the upgrades were because they were expecting new members. Why should current members pay for that? Even the teachers felt that we should be reimbursed for the time we couldn't attend. Obviously this club is only out to make $$$ on new members and doesn't care about the ones that are already under contract. Go for Equinox. The facility is much nicer and you can bet that when my membership is up, that's where I'll be.
Pros: nothing
Cons: Management, treatment towards members, Management, Management, Management

I like the Multiplex Clubs because of their multiple locations, and the equipment at the clubs which is new, and easy to get on without waiting. They have great spas too.
Pros: spa, not crowded

In my opinion, the Multiplex Clubs have the best customer service of any club I've belonged to. Being in the service industry myself, I am able to recognize when someone goes the extra mile to make my stay more enjoyable. The trainers are knowledgeable and friendly. The locker rooms are very clean.

I've been in a lot of clubs, and the Multiplex tries to get to know you. This little bit of customer service helped me as I used to be afraid of working out in public. The staff is great.
Pros: friendliness

I came to the Multiplex Clubs wanting to lead a more healthy lifestyle. Some friends told me about some programs they had so I signed up. Overall, I am extremely happy with my decision, and the trainers have helped me eat right and workout regularly. Love the service too!
Pros: service, equipment, cleanliness

I really like the fact that even during rush hour, I can get in and get out without have to wait for equipment, or a shower. I liek being able to check my email before I workout on the computers. Clean facility.
Pros: close to home, good parking
