I recently moved to Chicago. My husband and I were wandering around and thought mexican would be great tonight. We saw Su Casa's and decided to give it a try. Everything started off great but half a burrito in and I noticed I was chewing on a big chunk of plastic. Now I work in a restaurant and understand these things happen they shouldn't but they do. The manager was apologetic comped the food and remade it as a carry out for me to take home. Got home and decided to give it another try, cut into my burrito hmmmm.... it's beef. I'm a vegetarian. You would think after serving me plastic the first time they would make sure my food was right the second time around. Bummed out there is PLENTY of Mexican restaurants around. Guys I would give this one a miss.
- Pros: Managment seemed nice
- Cons: Apparently the staff as they think serving plastic is ok

We stayed next door at the James and stopped in for a quick early dinner. We were seated quickly and our food was fast and hot. I really enjoyed the tamales - they're served San Antonio style with chili on the side. The lunch specials were priced much better than the dinner entrees so next time we will probably go for lunch instead. There was a bit of a wait for the check once we were finished with our meal - we made it clear we were in a hurry as we had a plane to catch, so that was a minor annoyance, but overall the experience was good.
Avoid at all costs -- HORRIBLE!!!!

This restaurant was such a disappointment. I love Mexican food so I was excited when I saw it. It obviously caters to tourists who will not be back as nobody would ever go back on purpose. The service was terrible like when we were asked how the food was I responded "Meh..." and the waiter said "Good" and poured me more water... the food was watery and tasteless enough -- I did not need *more* water!! We also did not get chips and salsa until we asked for them. I do not think they were planning to give us any. We needed the salsa to pour over our food though because it was so bland and disgusting that we needed the salsa to cover up the taste. I also had a margarita and it was sooo strong and salty that I could barely drink it. Every sip was like taking a shot of tequila. I support strong drinks as much as the next person, but this was really gross. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! I highly recommend that you do not waste your time & money going to this horrible place.
- Pros: The Corona was good... cuz it was not made there.
- Cons: Bad food, bad service, and expensive. Taco Bell is waaay classier and tastier than this place!
Longtime boisterous Mexican restaurant serves up spicy fajitas and strong margaritas.

In Short
The dining room of this lively hacienda-style taqueria brims with pinatas, wall frescoes, religious iconography, vivid Mexican paintings and hanging silk flower baskets. Revelers settle into the bar area decked with mosaic inlays to watch sports or snag tables in the dining room to munch on cheesy enchiladas, beef tacos and chicken-packed burritos. Combo platters allow diners to sample a bit of everything for a fraction of the price.

This is a decent, but very average place to eat Mexican food. Not too much is memorable about it. But because of the location it's especially nice to sit outside on a warm day and people watch.
Great Margaritas! Good Customer service.

I went there on a Sunday afternoon thinking I was just going to stop for a Margarita! I stopped for three and some appetizers. The Margaritas although small, were freshly made and strong. The waitress was very friendly and the appetizers were big. I belive you get your "b*ng for the buck". You might find better food, but that comes with extra cost as well. I would definitely go back for the margartias!
- Pros: Has an outdoor seating area! Great Margaritas!
- Cons: seating area small outside.
Best Margarita!

Wow, I would have never gone to this place if I had read all other bad reviews for this place.. But I stumbled into Su Casa without anybody's influence (bad reviews..), and I really like this place.
I agree with some reviews on the average/chaotic service, but if you want really good margarita, you must try this place!
Well, I still keep going back to this place for more Magarita!
- Pros: Margarita!, interior
