Women worship this hair-care and makeup paradise that doubles as a drugstore.
by Contributor
The Scene
Two fabulous floors of hair and cosmetic products beautify this drugstore-like setting. Long, narrow aisles line the first level, carrying typical drugstore fare (no pharmacy, though) and secrets to great hair. Two staircases--one inside, one outside--lead upstairs to Bravco Too, a more open space where women test makeup under harsh lights and get products to satisfy all their beauty regimen needs.
The Goods
Downstairs, the shelves stock Bed Head, Redken, Rusk and other high-end hair products at the same prices you'd find in many salons. Regular, lower-priced brands are also on display. Upstairs, it's like a drugstore cosmetics aisle multiplied by 10. There's everything from mainstream makeup such as L'Oreal and Maybelline to designer brands like Dirty Girl, Rocket City and Bloom. Primp and pamper with an endless array of bath and skin products, hair accessories (including extensions and wigs) and other beauty-enhancing accoutrements.
The Surly Manager and the Outdated Merchandise
by paji61
1st floor nothing like 2nd floor where staff was pleasant, helpful, savvy. I had to return outdated moisturizer (Aveeno) and the manager was one of the ruddiest, most arrogant sales person I havehad to deal with. At first he denied the merchandise was theirs, until the cashier showed him their label on the top. Of course I had my receipt. He also attempted to blame the manufacturer for sending such to him. Blah, blah, blah. I settled for a refund and went to the 2nd floor to spend it. The Cashier apologized for the Manager who just walked away. I made the purchase 02-09-06. The exp date was 11/2005.
- Pros: Good Prices, Short Lines, Variety of merchandis
- Cons: Surly manager, unpredictable parking, outdated merchandise
Great beauty products
by daisyrave
This store has one of the best selections of beauty, hair care, and other products that I have seen. The prices are extremely reasonable.
Only one of the staff members was polite to my family and I, but he was extremely helpful. Everyone else was too busy talking amongst themselves at the front counter.
- Pros: Excellent selection, Good prices, Great brands
- Cons: Rude staff
"The" Gold Coast weekend Hang-out
by SaraTroublemaker
Fabulous! Neighborhood hang-out and landmark. Love the fireplace!
But . . . in the downstairs store, they are awfully strict about the directional routing through the aisles.
- Pros: Great Prices, Savvy Staff, Wonderful selection
