Good ribs by Mary C. at InsiderPages

I love how when you step in you feel like you are in the back woods. The service is good and the food plenty. I love how they bring it to you on a platter the is a trash can lid. The different bar-b-que sauces that they have on the table are good for a change.
Slow-smoked barbecue and down-home sides dished up in a roadhouse setting.

In Short
Famous Dave's recipes began as a hobby for Dave Anderson, who opened his first 'cue shack in Hayward, Wisc., in 1994. Now a national phenomenon, the restaurants cater to diners who dig into finger-licking-tasty meat. The menu features chopped pork, Texas brisket, baby back ribs and fire-kissed chicken slathered with signature sauces like vinegary Georgia Mustard. Entrees, some of which arrive atop a garbage can lid, come with corn on the cob, drunken apples, baked beans or slaw.
What was that?

For a place that touts its BBQ offerings, we were utterly disgusted. We called in an order for a slab of rib dinner and BBQ beef sandwich. This ran us just under $30. What we got were 11 individually cut pieces of rib that were too tough to eat and raw that looked like they were rolled sauce and still had the membrane attached. The sandwich was a good size but was nothing but large chucks of rib pieces-fat and all with a squirt of sauce on top. The french fries were good-that was all we were able to eat.
