wonderful place

I have been a client for 6 years. I am extremely picky about my hair, especially color... My colorist always gets it right, perfect highlights every time. I highly recommend Tina or Brooke for highlights, these two are amazing.

great up-do's

Over the past few years I have been in SEVERAL weddings and have had SEVERAL awful up-do's. But, the girls at Maxine did such a great job with the wedding I was in. Becca, Elizabeth, Bridget and Adrianne made sure we all were looking fabulous and I don't think a single hair moved out of place the whole night! We all will definitely back as regulars!!! Thanks girls!!

nice place, ok haircut

A friend of mine recommended this place since I needed a quick trim and my regular stylist is in NYC. I wanted to get the appointment with Adrianne, but unfortunately she was out, so I got Bridgitte. I asked to have 2 inches trimmed off the ends, ended up with 3+ inches shorter hair. I basically went from having long hair to having mid-length hair. Not what I asked for.

The place is nice and clean and tea/coffee that is served is a nice touch but I am afraid I won't be going back. At least not for a haircut to Bridgette.

Josh and Patricia are the BEST

I have been seeing Josh for my highlights and Patricia for my cuts for almost 2 years and I have never been disappointed. When you walk into the salon you are greeted by very friendly staff who direct you towards a room where you can put your coats and other belongings. You are then directed towards the comfortable waiting area where they provide coffee, tea, water, etc. and good magazines to read. I have never waited longer than 15 minutes for my stylists. Both of the stylists I see are very professional. Josh is extremely sweet and friendly. When I give him an idea of how I want my hair to look he always listens intently and gives me exactly what I was hoping for. Now when I go and see him I just ask him to to do something that would look good and it always turns out perfectly. Patricia is very talented and fun. I have never been disappointed by my haircuts, they are always perfectly executed and they look great with my type of hair. I went in one time hoping for a cut that would be fun and easy to take care of, and she went above and beyond my expectations. Maxine salon is very versatile, everyone will have a great experience!

Josh made my color never look better

Josh makes my hair look beautiful and natural, I have never got so many compliments on my hair before. Im going to send all my girlfriends to him, so they can enjoy his great talent and sweet southern attitude. The salon itself has a great design and atmosphere.

The Scene
The four-story townhouse is cool, modern and alive with energy. Upstairs, the hair and nail salons buzz with conversation and the whir of hairdryers. Downstairs, the spa has a mellow vibe with soft lights, a comfortable seating area and a trickling fountain. Billowy white fabric adds a soft touch throughout.

The Services
Nail and hair services are the main draws, and with good reason. Manicures and pedicures are precise and professional, and stylists turn out winning coifs and colors. Standout spa treatments include a balm therapy massage--which integrates acupressure with Thai and shiatsu massage techniques--and specialty skin treatments, like oxygen or vitamin C facials. Good-enough-to-eat nail treatments include the milk-and-honey manicure and white chocolate-mint pedicure. Massages are popular treatments and are performed with skill and care; unfortunately, periodic chatter from the hallway can be disruptive.

Stylist Adrienne ROCKS!

I was in town for a wedding and on my concierge's recommendation, went to Maxine for a blowout/style. I'm always wary of new stylists but I had absolutely nothing to fear. Adrienne is the BEST stylist I've ever met, and that includes my regular stylist at home in San Francisco. She worked her magic and my hair turned out voluminous and full while still soft and swingy. She also added some subtle waves....a touch of tasteful GLAM. She really listened to what I wanted and totally exceeded my expectations. She is AWESOME!!! Front desk staff was a little aloof and snooty, but I was so happy with my hair I didn't care. Thanks, Adrienne! I wish you lived in San Francisco!

• Pros: Adrienne, the best stylist in the world. Trendy Rush St. location.
• Cons: A little pricey. Snooty front desk staff.

For a great colorist ask for Patrick

If you're looking for a great colorist I would highly recommend Patrick. He really cares about his clients and knows how to make you look your best. Patrick has great taste and really knows his craft. I've continued to go to him for years because he does a great job and I completely trust him.

great highlights

I went to this salon for the first time to get my hair hilighted by robert. I left with my hair looking brighter and much more natural. Although the prices are high their is no pressre to add on more services or products. Beautiful salon, robert is highly recommended.
