Delicious and charming.

A quiet atmosphere with the best Chinese food I have ever had. EVER. The portions are large and delicious, the restaurant is gorgeous, albeit retro. The walls are adorned with dragon ornamentation and the ceiling with traditional chandeliers.
The General Tso's chicken is my favorite dish; I have had it at many different restaurants. At Orange Gardens, it was tender and delicious and packed with fresh crisp veggies: onions, green peppers, and baby corns. The soda is by-the-can, but that is pretty much standard at most Chinese restaurants.
The wait staff is fast and efficient, but not chatty; most likely due to the language barrier. My only complaint out of several visits is the waiter once spilled my friends by-the-can Coke while delivering the food and did not replace it or credit the check for him. But this is one complaint out of several otherwise perfect visits.
The restaurant also offers pickup, but no delivery.

Service is excellent and always friendly! Food is fresh and hot when picked up and the order is always right (something that many other restaurants don't seem capable of doing for take out orders)! Love love love this place and everything about it!
- Pros: great food, great service, fast, blockbuster next door
- Cons: no delivery :(
Great take out!

Love Orange Garden. It's a typical Chinese restaurant, not trying to be something it isn't. But they have great Chinese food! The staff is very friendly, and prices are reasonable. I call in on my way home and my order is hot and ready when I pick it up. If I just walk-in, it is right next to a Blockbuster so I can pick up dinner and a movie. Much better than many of the pricey pretentious Chinese food restaurants in the area. Love it.
- Pros: Great food, unpretentious ambience
- Cons: don't deliver
North Center regulars stop in for traditional Chinese fare at this small B.Y.O.B. storefront.

In Short
The dining room of this cozy restaurant near the intersection of Damen and Irving Park has booths along both sides and a few center tables. The old-school menu features classics like chop suey and chow mein, but many folks come for the burrito-sized egg rolls, deep-fried and bargain priced. Other popular entrees include homemade pot stickers and sizzling whor bar: a combo of scallops, shrimp, beef, chicken and vegetables served atop toasted rice.
I dream of eggrolls

Orange Garden. Each and every time I see the ancient facade (I mean this place is old!) I start getting hunger pangs for their eggrolls. These are the BEST eggrolls I've ever had ANYWHERE. I believe they are cooked in peanut oil, which may not be uncommon, but they are always crispy, hot and fresh. Hmmm... I think I know what I'm having for dinner!
- Pros: Superb Food, Old school, Eggrolls
- Cons: Closed Monday, Closes too early, Don't deliver
