Best haircut

I just wanted to comment about how great Emmett Hodge is. I would recommend him anytime. After a series of not- so-great experiences with hairstylists in Chicago, I saw the comments posted here about Emmett Hodge and decided to pay him a visit. He was very friendly, fun and professional at the same time. I did not have any clue as to what I want with my hair and he did what he thought was the best. It turned out he gave me a best haircut I have ever had with keeping in mind the general things I said i wanted to have (length). All in all, very pleasant experience and I wll deffinitely go back.

Always satisfied!

I have been going to Emmett for over 3 years. I randomly found him by searching on city search- and he had good reviews so I thought I would check it out. He always gives me the perfect haircut- i am very unhappy. I also trust him 100% with my color- I always got highlights forever- and he suggested I go dark. I trust him so I gave it a shot and I love the color! Everyone I recommend him to loves him! I would never go to anyone else!

I have been to see Emmett four times, after finding him based on Citysearch reviews. He is everything I hoped for based on these reviews, and more! His haircutting and styling skills are absolutely first-rate. I have not had him color my hair (yet) but after my last haircutting appointment we had a very informative and helpful consultation about color options. Emmett is very attentive to clients: he listens with great kindness, gives advice about what is best for your hair, but then does exactly what you ask. Just to give you an idea of how great Emmett is, I live in Wisconsin, but gladly drive to Chicago to have him do my hair. At other times (in NYC), I have paid four times as much as what Emmett charges and Emmett's work far outshines that of these other stylists. I am very happy to have found Emmett and strongly recommend him; he is absolutely wonderful in every way.

Chicago's Greatest

Stop looking. Have Emmett create a new you! He's the best with color, style and his chairside manner is surpassed by none. For over 11 years, Emmett has been cutting, styling, perming and coloring my hair. I met him at Vi's place on Clybourn years ago and followed him to Belmont ave. The only other person I would let touch my hair is John at Mario Tricoci Stratford who did my hair when I lived in the burbs. But why when I live in Chicago and Emmett is in Chicago and price is 1/3 of Tricoci would ANYONE go anywhere else. A True Master..Emmett is. Watch out Tricoci if Emmett ever decides to open his own shop!

Nobody does it better

Emmett has been doing my hair for seven years now and when I moved to Los Angeles for a year I missed him more than my family! He's talented and clever, he listens and gives very helpful feedback and I'll never let anyone else cut my hair. On top of all that Emmett is easily one of the flat out kindest, most genuinely good-hearted people I've ever met. He's a gem in every way!

Best Hair Stylist in City.....

After I met my boyfriend and saw his haircut styled to his face and most becoming to him, I asked him where he goes to have his hair cut. He told me that Emmett cut it for him and before he went to Emmett, he wore it differently. When Emmett saw him, he told him he would cut his hair the way that would be great for him, and believe you me, it is. So I said that I would love to go to him too. So I made my first appointment with Emmett about three months ago and I have been going to him ever since and think he is the best. I have lived in this city right downtown for a long time and have tried all kinds of upscale salons, etc., and no one compares to Emmett. I truly recommend him for both men and women. He knows what he is doing and he gives not only a great cut and color, he can style hair the best too! I am hooked for life :)

Two years ago I moved to Chicago and was looking for a great hairstylist. I work in Marketing and Sales and do not have the time to mess around with someone who is not good and very professional. I have found that person in Emmett Hodge. His cuts are tremendous; service excellent; the new salon location is great and easy to get too; easy parking. I highly recommend Emmett to all professionals looking for a unique and great cut and styling; you will not be disappointed.

He's definitely the one...

I moved to Rochester, Minnesota two years ago from the DC area and had not-so-wonderful hair experiences after trying to find a stylist in town. I since learned that I had to ask for stylists who were familiar with asian hair (yes, i have coarse and thick hair but still that doesn't explain the hair drones of being of a particular ethnic background). Realizing I would have more luck in MPLS, I was referred to several great salons, but wasn't ever satisfied--I felt my look was outdated and my hair lacked vibrance. Finally, on a work trip to Chicago, I was determined to find a stylist. I was desparate at this point (I even had to fly back to Virginia to have my stylist back home *fix* my first & last horrible experience in Rochester). I was determined to find someone who could create a style that best suits my hair type, while matching my personality & face shape.

So I hopped onto Citysearch & made an appointment with Emmet after coming across his reviews. He was so accomodating too--I was from out of town, staying in the burbs of Chicago and had to navigate to the city by train--I really appreciated his understanding since it turned out that I wasn't able to make it to my originally scheduled appointment. He worked it out so I could still come in...

From the moment I stepped into the salon, I was relieved. He had such a personable and patient disposition, I really felt comfortable. He had suggested some ideas that really made sense--even while I was going through the awkward stages of growing out my hair. And the ideas were great. I left the salon with a totally manageable style. The cut had natural lift and vibrance. I was so motivated and convinced to keep growing out my hair. I couldn't believe it. I was already sold in coming back. I don't think he knew how serious I was in finding a good stylist--no matter the distance. And with all of my return visits, I can only hope this reflects how much I value his expertise. Definitely recommend!!

I LOVE my hair

My best friend and I were sick of chunky, fake highlights and hair coloring. We started searching for a hair stylist and Emmett's reviews were amazing. We gave it and shot and both LOVED his work. Emmett is really easy to talk to and he understands what you're asking for. He's confident in his work and the results show that he's very good at what he does. I never had highlights before and I was nervous and now I'm in love with my hair and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. He's great! I recommend him to anyone! A+!

Emmett is #1 in Chicago!

After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to go see him before the holidays after going to those stuffy and pretentious salons for many years. Not only did Emmett do a cut and color for me that was exactly what I was looking for, but I received so many compliments on my hair after. I will be going back!
