I recently went into Stems to ask about personal flowers for my small wedding. I needed bouquets for 4 bridesmaids, my bouquet, 9 boutonnieres and 6 corsages. I told her that information, said I like red roses and white calla lilies, and said she should just do whatever she could with my relatively TINY budget of $500. Honestly, it was so little money compared to some of the quotes I'd gotten at other places that I wasn't sure she could pull it off at all, and I certainly wasn't expecting to have the pretty flowers I had always wanted. WOW was I surprised when we picked up the flowers and they were absolutely beautiful! They were more than I could have ever expected and they looked like a million bucks! They were put together with such attention to detail and skill. I gasped when I saw my bouquet! I can't say enough about Stems, and I recommend them for all your flower needs 150%.

I like supporting local small business, so when I needed flowers for a photo shoot, I went to Stems. Shana was very nice and said she would email me a quote for what I needed- which she did. Problems started when I tried to follow up with a simple question. After emailing and calling the store, I went there in person. I asked the young woman behind the counter if some of the flowers on my list might take less than a week to arrive, and she told me I'd have to ask "Allison". She then told me that Allison was (and I quote) "too busy to answer my question because we are trying to do a wedding". She asked me for my contact info, and I said that the store already had my contact info- that I had emailed and called- and that I was busy as well (trying to schedule a photo shoot). She looked annoyed, but managed to answer my simple question. I thanked her for her time and left the store. Needless to say, I went elsewhere. Funny thing, the new florist I found seemed confused when I told her that Stems said they would need a full week to get my flowers. She told me that their wholesaler is quite literally around the block from their store, and that they can get what they need the day before! And, their prices were quite high- I was quoted $4.00 for a single rose!!! I am sure they make lovely bouquets, but so do any number of florists in Chicago. I would much rather take my money to someone who was interested in doing business, treats their customers equally- no matter what money they are looking to spend- and has reasonable prices. I guess Stems will scoff at what I have to report, but then business must be good for them if they can afford to tell customers who are standing in their store "We are too busy to answer your question". Too bad.

I got my girlfriend an orchid plant from here for Valentine's Day. Although I went in the week of, planning ahead not being one of my biggest strengths, they were able to accommodate me. The plant was very nice, and is still alive to this day. The service at Stems is impeccable & they are willing to go above and beyond for their customers. Stems is a very modern florist & not some staid FTD that my dad has been going to forever. Their designs are intricate & alluring. That special lady in your life will know you went the extra mile for her by avoiding the flower mills that everyone goes to. I highly recommend them, as well as being prepared for the flower holidays at least a week in advance to avoid any problems.

There is no where else in the city I will buy flowers from. Everyone is knowledgable & extremely helpful. I know nothing about flowers, yet I always come out smelling like roses. I tell them the occasion & how much I want to spend. Then I sit back & let them work their creative magic. My girlfriend is blown away every time I get her flowers from Stems. All of her co-workers & friends always agree that they are the most beautiful flowers. My girlfriend beems with joy while the rest of them beem with envy. Do yourself a favor & let the ladies of Stems bring soem beauty into your world.

I used Stems for my wedding as well and the flowers were beautiful. The table arrangements were original and got plenty of compliments. Also, everyday bouquets are unique and are a welcome surprise versus the traditional arrangements. My mom loves to get their flowers and I would highly recommend using them as your florist!

Shana and Allison did the flowers for my wedding last year, our flowers turned out better than I ever had imagined, these two ladies are truly talented. Another thing I also use them for everyday arrangements and they are so cool and original.
