TURKEY RUBEN!
by jlh67
What can you say....France's is a great sandwich shop especially the Turkey Ruben! This is the place to go when you are in need of a good sandwich. They use real fresh roasted turkey and it really makes a difference. Fortunately (or unfortunately for my hips) France's is in walking distance from our home. The only drawback is that the sandwiches are so good - and big that we never have enough room to try any desserts. The apple pie looks amazing though!
- Pros: Great Sandwiches, Comfort Foods
- Cons: Long Wait on Weekends
Love that Frances!
by kookie_kelly
Frances' has been around forever and while the current location lacks some of the charm of it's former digs (about a block away). the food remains it's #1 draw. Try going at an off-time (3 PM or so), as it tends to get busy at lunch and dinner. Their deli sandwiches are the best west of Big Apple...try the pastrami (hot, of course)! Make a pig of yourself with the pickle bowl and they will bring more with a smile!
- Pros: True Jewish Deli
- Cons: Hard to find parking
Great Enviornment, Great Food!
by rea9899
It is a very cute cafe with great food. I have eaten there twice and loved both things that I have had and so have my dine along friends. I highly recommend everything that I have tasted and seen on the menu. The omelettes are huge and very good!
- Pros: Lots of Room, Friendly Staff, Very laid back
- Cons: slower service
Bargain-priced Lincoln Park coffee shop serves up Jewish deli-style favorites.

In Short
A giant hanging pickle welcomes customers to this spot on bustling Clark Street, where an all-ages crowd enjoys homey service, dependable food and easy-on-the-wallet prices. Breakfast gets busy, but the line moves fast. On offer: the Reuben omelette with corned beef or pastrami, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut. Fried matzo is another winner, with thin matzo crackers dipped in egg and fried. Lunch and dinner options include salads, burgers and sandwiches.
Great Little Joint

My wife and I are from a small farming community in S. Ill. and can appreciate a good meal and deal, we rode our bikes up from downtown searching for Wrigley Field, along the way we stumbled across this fine little deli...there was no designated bike parking so we just tied up to a meter right outside the deli, because of the large windows facing the street we were able to take in the hustle of a Chicago monday noon rush..fascinating at the very least ....anyhow along with the great show, F.D.'s price, service, food and help were all excellent.
- Pros: Food, Price
Great sandwiches and shakes

A good lincoln park deli with great sandwiches and milkshakes
Almost New York
by aplatt
The feel, the crowd, the noise, the taste - all reminiscent of New York's great delis, but with a decidedly Chicago twist. Great sandwiches - my personal favorite is the Lincoln Park. All portions are generously midwestern sized.
- Pros: quick service, great food, noisy
- Cons: no parking, crowded on weekends, no frills dining
Don't miss this deli

An incredible deli based in Lincoln Park. They only use REAL deli meat (none of that processed stuff) and have the best milkshakes. Great place to grab either lunch or breakfast. (And you can order take-out, too.)
