Hello everyone, this is my first time writing a review but anyway my 1st time every going to green dolphin street was this past Friday and I had so so so much fun! I could say this was my 1st time every enjoying myself to the fullest going to a club. I didn't know it was actually a restaurant until reading the other reviews but I went after the restaurant hrs were over but the atmosphere was excellent, it was spacious through out the club and there were about 5 bars and 3 different areas of the club played different music so the atmosphere was never boring. The main dance floor did get kind of extra crowded but it was still fun and they even opened up the VIP area for everyone. And people don't take forever to show up, there was a line out the door @ 11:30 when I arrived and it stays open til 4 AM. I would recommend anyone to go to this club on a FRIDAY night if you want to have a good time, young or middle-aged, and don't have to worry about it being super crowded, rude people or annoying men or women. BUT be prepared to spend money on drinks, they all average about $10 a piece and that's just for reg. drinks ex: long island ice tea or remy and coke.
Pros: The atmosphere and the ample amount of bars
Cons: Having one of the coat checks in the ladies bathroom

Steak was raw and came back hard as a hockey puck after being sent back. Despite telling waiter we were in a hurry and wanted to see the show, food took forever and they did everything they could to sell us more despite knowing we were in a hurry, including after i gave mycredit card to close out the tab. convinced by hostess to have dinner in the dining room so we could get in to see the show and then told it was too crowded and we had to sit in adjacent room and see the show from a distance. $1,000 for a SH#$ty MEAL and bad view of the show. hated it. never go back and tell everyone to stay away.

I had made reservations there for Valentines Day. This was one of the most outstanding meals I have ever eaten in my life! The service was equally outstanding; and let's not forget the convenience of walking into the next room after dinner and listening to some great Jazz.
Pros: Great Food, Better Music
Cons: can be expensive (along with any other good restaurant in this city)

Last week I ate at this restaurant and found it to be only of average quality for the price. First, service was friendly, but very slow. My friend found a hair in her Coke. My New York stip streak was tasty, but tough and very grissely. The steamed asparagus was tough and appaeared to be canned, not fresh. My sister ordered a cheese and fruit plate, which was missing the fontina cheese that the menu said it had and the cheddar was dried out. I ordered the white cake with blackberries, mascarpone and lemon ice cream. The cake was so dry that I thought it was several days old. It was actually stale and there was no mascarpone accompanying it. I ended up leaving it on the plate. Although some things were good, the overall experience was mediocre at best. I won't be eating here again and I doubt I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Pros: great potatoes, great lamb, steaks are fair.
Cons: slow service, some food isn't very fresh or good.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Nice outdoor eating area overlooking river. I had a great time last week when I was there. Abundant parking, friendly staff. I will definitely go here again. Johnk
Pros: nice music
Cons: none

We threw a bachelor party for a friend of ours at this place. We had confirmation but when we arrived the bouncers didn't have a clue. We told them to get the list, didn't know who had it, we told them to get the manager, they wouldn't. Well suffice to say this ruined my friends bachelor party, we had to wait in line, pay full price and when we got in we talked to the manager and we were on the list. No champaing, no private booth, we got in later than we expected. NEVER, EVER AGAIN
Pros: NONE
Cons: Need New Staff

Food and service were great. Waiter had a lot of good suggestions. Best part was going to see the band. Great place to take a date or your wife.

Looking for a place to dine with a Jazz Club atmosphere, we decided to check out the Green Dolphin. Take note: the Jazz band plays in the Bar area and dinner is served in the Dinning room. We were treated to prerecorded, piped in Jazz via speakers in the dinning room, which competed with the ensemble playing in the bar. Unless you want to dine in the bar, the Jazz sound while dining is conflicting & confusing. Although both our meals were very good, the portions are SMALL, and the server got our orders wrong to boot. Will we be back? I dont think so
Pros: Good food, Band was good, easy to find
Cons: Small portions, piped in music, pricey

I went to Green Dolphin Street last Thursday evening and had a fantastic time. I will not forget my meal! We started our meal with an amuse send out by the chef. Then we moved on to an intense foie gras served with grilled pineapple and a crab salad that was fresh and full of flavor. I chose the venison for my entree when my server assured me it would be flavorful and tender. She was right! Also, the wine list was so comprehensive, I could have spent all night reading it. After dinner, we had our dessert and after dinner drinks in the bar area, where the most incredible trio was playing. I didn't get their names, but I look forward to seeing them again (hopefully at Green Dolphin Street!)

Green Dolphin boasts an elegant decor and atmosphere. While Tues evenings unfold, the crowd evolves from older refined Jazz afficianados to flashy and hot-footed salseros. The salsa music spun by a DJ energizes everyone who stick around until the late hour and enjoy the large dancefloor - Usually even those who arrive early on to catch the free one salsa hour lesson.
Pros: Diverse crowd, large dance floor, varietal theme nights
Cons: expensive drinks, street pkg limited
