MULTIPLE HUMAN HAIRS IN PASTA!!
by chivisitor
July 05, 2008
We decided to get take out from here based on a friends recommendation, we each got the Farfalle Pollo as takeout. While we were eating, each of us noticed at least 5-6 short black human hairs in the pasta, DISGUSTING! Both of us wanted to toss our lunch. We called them back and they offered us the same pasta again if we came back which we promptly turned down, who wants to eat at a place that lets hair in its food, not just one but 5+ hairs in EACH dish. Horrible, we would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. We reported them via Chicago 311 and will report them to the board of health.
- Pros: None
- Cons: HAIR IN FOOD
Great Food Terrible Loyal Customer Service

Four eight years or so we have been a loyal customer to pasta bowl eating in, carry out and delivery.
Today we were told that even though we were in the system and a regular customer the fact that our address was 3430 and not 3400 we could not get delivery.
It is funny that a store in a depressed economy is able to refuse customers?
Even after speaking with two of the managers and offering to walk to the corner they would not delivery to us.
As we have a new baby it makes it harder to just jump in the car and pick up something.
The food is good but I cannot recommend the collage kid mentality of the managers who actually hung up on me without me being upset or rude?
We will make it a point to patron other Italian restaurants in the City where we are desired as a customer.
Harrassing Wait Staff!!!!!!!!

Hello All, A few co-workers and I had the worst humiliation ever at the Pasta Bowl. After our meal, a waiter rushed behind us, complaining about his tip!!!! He demanded more money in front of other customers and his fellow co-workers! If you do decide on eating at the Pasta Bowl, be prepared to be confronted about the tip you leave behind! No joke!
- Pros: Food
- Cons: The service is Horrible, the Waiters and Managers are very Rude.

I've been here several times and I've never been disappointed. They've recently updated some of their menu, and added a couple of their most popular specials to the regular menu. I was there with my girlfriend and we had a great time. I had the Gnocchi, and she had their version of Mac 'n Cheese. Both were great! Even though the place was really busy, our server Jeff took care of us and got us fed quickly. He was extremely knowledgable about the food as well. Great place for a casual night out!
- Pros: Awesome food, affordably priced

If you are in the mood for a hearty bowl of pasta, this is the best place in the lake view area. They have a cute little restaurant that has a decent sized menu consisting of soups, salads, and pastas. The food is really reasonably priced and the portions are huge! You will definitely leave with a full stomach AND leftovers. Best of all, you get all this at a really reasonable price too and great service!
great food, good deal

If you're craving really fresh and fast Italian, this is the place! You can see you're food prepared in their open kitchen and it's ready in no time. PB even has good for you options with delicious oil free sauces and whole wheat pasta options. My husband and I love this place. Where else in Lincoln Park can you get a bottle of wine and two great Italian dishes for about $30--incredible! Also great for take out.
- Pros: fresh, cheap, fast
- Cons: no parking if u care
Fresh pasta and sandwiches at cheap prices make this a favorite for young Lincoln Parkers.

In Short
The long, skinny room has colorful decor, with window tables up front, a bar that faces the bustling kitchen, and open space near the back. Shareable appetizers include bruschetta, and spinach salad topped with goat cheese, crumbled bacon, mushrooms and a light dressing. Pasta is the star of the menu, with abundant portions and a number of standout choices: Linguini pesto is a favorite, chock-full of whole pine nuts.
- Pros: Great prices
- Cons: Parking is tough
too good

TPB features easily the best alfredo in the city (imagine: REAL parmesan!), friendly/engaging staff, and good prices. I went there a few weeks ago, by myself, gorged myself on alfredo and pinot grigio, and then had a few beers at The Other Side. By the time I left, I felt like I was best friends with the entire staff, I had dropped so little money and I had my leftovers to look forward to. Top 5 best places in the city.

I went to this pasta joint last night and loved it. The food was really fresh, the staff was sincere and fast and the price was very reasonable. Being a solo diner, I appreciated the counter seating area and it was great entertainment watching the chefs at work. This place is a find, I'll be back many times!
- Pros: fresh, reasonable, bustling
