Be prepared to pay through the nose!

by Kate312

Needed a drain pump for a washer - went to the store and they charged me $50.00. I thought that was kind of steep so I checked their website. Same part is $36 on their own website! Other websites had the same part for around $25.00.

I can forgive a few extra bucks for the convenience of picking up a part rather than ordering online, but a 50% markup?? Puleeeeese. I called them to ask about it and they said the price is more in-store because there's more labor involved. errr...yeah...I want a job there, as apparently their 'labor' makes $100 an hour based on their in-store mark up.

Best customer service around!

by JenniferZee

I picked up the parts I thought I needed to fix my dryer. After replacing the old parts, my problem remained. So, I called the guys at Midwest Appliance and they let me talk to their service representative who walked me through the steps of changing out a different part based on the symptoms I described.

When my efforts failed I called back one more time (a bit frantic), and the service man said he would be over later that afternoon to fix everything back up. In the end, I was only charged for the parts (even though he did a lot more work than he expected)! What fantastic customer service!!! Thanks so much Midwest Appliance! You've just gained a lifelong customer.

Do it yourself and save $$

by Roggeclan

If you're like me I like to do it MYSELF. That missing screw. That faulty switch. That silly little piece of hardware that holds the dishwasher flush with the granite. Whatever you need, they have it. Nice guys too. Thanks so much!

The Place for Parts!

by shuley27

We have a lot of old appliances, and parts can be very hard to find. Not at Midwest. I always find what I need here. The midwest people are always friendly and helpful, and the prices are competitive. I just call and tell them what I need and it's ready when I get there

I'd have to buy new appliances without them!!

Whirlpool Gold Dryer Model/GX9868J

by admin69

I had my dryer break after being on a long vacation to Hawaii. I went on-line and had to determine how quickly and how fast I could get the part based on the part being converted to a newer part and then needed some assistance in testing with a voltmeter which part needed to be replaced. It was like having a repairment next to me and fixing for me.

Thanks You, No Thank You Midwest

  • Pros: Great Technical Support & Part in Stock

GREAT customer service!!!!

by cbkal

We had a hard time finding one tiny part for our dishwasher. We couldn't find it anywhere. Finally when I talked to the Midwest guys, they told me they'd find it. It took a little time, but they came through and I ended up saving tons of money, instead of throwing money away on a repair guy. They were so nice and really cared. Thanks to them my dishwasher door doesn't fall fast anymore! Thanks guys!!!

  • Pros: online ordering and personal service

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!

by ADDISONSMOM09

These guys had everything I needed and they helped me fix my refrigerator, my stove, and even got me a replacement lint filter for my dryer. I gave them my model numbers and told them the problems and they troubleshooted over the phone and had all my parts in stock. I SAVED A TON OF MONEY since I didn't have to call a repairman. Everything was so easy! I never thought I could do it myself! Thanks Midwest! You guys are awesome!!!!

  • Pros: They Have Everything, Are So Helpful, Saved Me $$$

Terrible Service, AVOID

by TDEEZ

I wish I would have read the reviews prior to calling these con artists...we had an issue with a vent that would rattle ever time the wind blew. I called several companies and the described the problem, and after hearing it was on the roof most said they could not help. At the suggestion of one company I talked to I called Midwest Appliance, big mistake. After describing in detail the problem with a vent on the roof, and discussing the specifics of the roof itself (flat with a deck, accessible from inside the unit, no ladder needed, etc.) Midwest said they would have a guy out later that day. The man who arrived was very nice but after being in our house for 90 seconds, literally, he said he could not fix the issue. He was a oven vent specialist and we needed somone to work on the roof vent, which we already knew. As I walked him out he handed me an invoice for a $49 service charge, which seemed absurd since Midwest sent the wrong man out for the job, he acknowledge that and called the office back in the shop. Long story short, they guy working the office phone, who I can assume is in a position of management, said the $49 charge was not waivable. When I asked why he sent an oven repair man out to fix a roof ventilation problem he didn't have a good answer and went so far as to say "well then you shouldn't have called us" and threatened to take me to small claims court which I laughed off. Long story short, he was a complete jag and I gave the guy who came to our place $20 for gas money since it wasn't really his fault.

Beware of this company, they are all about the dollar and not about service, if you have any other option then AVOID Midwest Appliance!

Buyers Beware!!!

by billedwards

I placed a simple order 21 days ago. After 7 days, I received the wrong part. I took two days to actually get someone to to take the time and talk to me. I was insured that the correct part is in the mail. 12 days later, still no part. A week ago, I called back to complain. I was told the part was being shipped UPS so I could track it. The UPS label has been printed, but not shipped yet. I will NEVER order from here again!

  • Pros: You can order online
  • Cons: Seemingly nver get your order!

Weasels

by StealthZ54

I needed a water filter and I went to this place thinking they were reputable. Admittedly I did not shop around for prices and was expecting to spend a bit more than what I would find on the internet. The first time I went there they gave me the wrong filter. When I went back they charged me a ridiculous mark up on the product. Twice the price of what it was on the internet. I don't know if it was because they knew I had no idea what a filter would cost or just because they charge a ridiculous amount for their product but it was unprofessional and ridiculous that they would charge me double what most places charged for the water filter. If you are going to go, don't make the same mistake and shop around for prices before you go.
