A incredibly enjoyable experience!!!!
by puppylover83
The one thing I hate most about "upscale" salons in this city is the pretentious environment. You feel like you have to dress to the nines just to go in and get your hair cut.
B rose is the perfect combination of professionalism and relaxed. You get the upscale services with out the salon itself being stuffy-which I love! I want to be able to go in my sweats and flip flops and not feel like everyone is judging me.
The front desk staff is extremely nice and know me by name when I walk in-which makes me feel like they really care about me as a client. They always offer you something to drink and have a comfy waiting room.
All in all I always feel completely comfortable when I am in B rose. The staff is highly professional and I love the feeling of an upscale salon-just a little less pretentious:)
- Pros: professional staff, relaxed environment
- Cons: only cash tips
B ROSE IS AMAZING
by photofox26
I just moved on Southport and needed a new salon. I happened to walk by B Rose on day and stopped in. The front desk was extremely welcoming and offered me a menu of services and asked if I had any questions.
I booked an appointment with Vicki for a partial hi-light and hair cut and could not be happier with the outcome!
Vicki asked me tons of questions about exactly what I was looking for with the color and cut and offered her professional opionion on what she thought would work best for me. The hi-lights turned out amazing! I have never been happier with my color in my life!
The cut was exactly what I was looking for. She kept a lot of my lentgh like I asked her and gave me some really fun and flirty layers that were easy to maintain.
I have recommended 3 of my friends to Vicki and B rose and they have all had a great experiences as well!
I would highly recommend B Rose Salon to anyone reading this!
- Pros: Friendly Staff, relaxed, yet professional atmosphere
- Cons: None I can think of
I would not recommend! Only go for Brow Waxing

I used to get my hair done by Debbie. The color was always off and she would charge $50+ for a haircut and literally spend 10 minutes cutting it and then some random trainee would finish. The environment there is not very professional and they don't spend that much time on your to warrant how much they charge. I go to another Salon called Zea Salon and LOVE IT! They literally spend an hour cutting your hair. Jerry the owner is amazing; The girls that brow wax there do a great job though!
- Pros: Brow Waxing-Connie is awesome!
- Cons: Over Charge, Bad Color, Not enough time spent on cut
very professional.

I called B Rose at about 12pm on Sunday and they had me scheduled that day at 4pm. I walked in immediately and was served. And let me just just say I walked in A MESS. I had previously attempted to bleach my hair, which I had dyed black, to attempt to reach a golden blond. Unfortunately this hadn't worked and I turned a flaming pumpkin color. I then proceeded to use three more products on my hair to fix it with no luck. I knew to not look like carrot top I would need to get my hair professionally done. Emily fixed my hair from a frizzy orange mess to a golden blond color. The service was professional, the atmosphere was relaxing, and my hair is not falling out .
- Pros: professional, friendly
- Cons: somewhat expensive
A cut above the rest!

This was a great experience. As a guy ,it was great to feel comfortable in a salon surrounded by beautiful ladies. The service was second to none. The minute i walked in the door there was someone taking my coat, scarf and briefcase. Before long i was relaxing under warm jets of water, and a hair stylist gently massaging my head with shampoo and conditioner. It was so relaxing i nearly fell asleep! That took a few minutes and then i was whisked away to get my haircut. The cut was just right,it took about 30 minutes and it looked great.!The stylist lisa ,was friendly, courteous, and made me feel at home.My wife and i love this place!!
- Pros: Great service, staff and products.
- Cons: Not enough of these salons.
open late.

I have lived in the area for about 4 years and started going to b.rose for the past 2 1/2 years and love it! I usually have to call with a short notice because of my hectic schedule therefore I always see a different stylist, but that has never mattered. They have my color on file and everyone has access to it. I have always had a great experience at this very cute salon. I feel welcomed and never feel awkard to see someone different. I like that they explain the products they use on me and why. I love their casual chic style- I never feel like I have to dress up to get my hair done! I also get my waxing done here with Connie. She is a great ease considering I don't particularly like waxing, but she makes it as painless as possible! The massages are awesome! I had Claudia work on me a couple of months ago and she is phenomenal...overall I love this place because all the girls are awesome and you can tell they all get along great with each other and it shows!
- Pros: late hours, casual
TERRIBLE
by roskyboy
worst haircut I have ever gotten. The atmosphere is ok. Unfriendly and unprofessional front desk. Only go there if you want a haircut with ONE jagged layer on ONE side of your head. Terribly inexperienced. This place is like the HairCuttery, with a more pleasant atmosphere.
Terrible cut, terrible service
by rachadamsuk
One of the worst haircuts I have ever had.
After checking in at the desk, I waited for half an hour. No one asked if I would like to put my coat and scarf etc. in the coat room, let alone bother to ask if I was thirsty. No one bothered to apologise for keeping me waiting - there was no "we'll be with you in a second". I understand sometimes you have to wait a while, but to be left alone with no contact...
And then there was the cut. It took numerous haircuts over a 9 month period to cut out the damage. My hair is naturally in good condition and I left with my hair looking fried. The "stylist" went a bit crazy with the razor scissors - she obviously doesn't know how to do long heavy layers. Awful.
- Pros: I cannot think of one
- Cons: Unprofessional, No Customer Service Skills, Unskilled hair stylist
Loves it!

I first went to B Rose in the fall on a recoommendation from a friend and I LOVED IT! I saw Gabby on my first visit and have requested her everytime since. The girls are all fun & fashionable- an enjoyable place to get your hair done and relax with a nice pedicure!
- Pros: The hairdressers really know what they are doing.
- Cons: I thought the prices were high at first, but not after comparing them throughout Chicago.
Great People and Service

I've been to Debbie for 3 haircuts so far. She and everyone else seem very personable and I believe she does know what kind of style best suites me (don't know what that other bad review is all about, which is what prompted my writing this). Also, my boyfriend and I went for pedicures and were both very pleased (despite his protest initially). This is a very laidback atmosphere with nice professional people that do a great job. I also think the prices are very reasonable and debbie doesn't charge for touch ups in between cuts.
