What's not to love?

Open 24 hours, gyros in the heart of Greek Town. This place is great. There is plenty of seating. Food is wonderful and they have some great specials. To top it off, it's right down the street from the bars.

Quick service, great food, friendly staff

I love going to Mr. Greek's when I'm craving a hot dog, French fries, or chicken nuggets. The food is great. There is definitely something on the menu for everyone, the menu is huge! The staff is friendly and the service is fast and organized.

• Cons: no parking, extremely busy at 3am.

This fast-food joint fights a winning battle against the more formal sit-down restaurants in Greektown.

The Scene
On the busy corner of Jackson and Halsted, smack in the middle of Greektown, this 24-hour spot is bright and rather barren. But they make up for the sparse surroundings with their affordable and cooked-to-order Greek specialties. Head up to the counter and check out the massive menu, but concentrate on the Greek stuff. Pay for your meal, grab your ticket and settle in while your meal is prepared.

The Food
While the menu ranges from the usual burgers and dogs to tacos and grilled cheese, the stars are definitely Greek. Go for the gyros, souvlaki (pork shish kabob) or roasted chicken in either the combo (with fries and a drink) or in a dinner (choosing two from a salad, fries or rice--and it's salad and fries if you don't make a choice). The gyros are cut from the spit and quick-grilled. Souvlaki, meanwhile is finished off on the fire.

Great value

This is an excellent choice for lunch. The portions are huge and everything is cooked right to order, but in less than 7 minutes you have your food. The gyros are really good and the people who worked here are friendly. Great value for your money.
