FREE! FREE! FREE!. This zoo is amazing because you can literally be standing there staring at the animals and have the unique experience of seeing the Chicago skyline behind them. It's small, but you can definitely spend a few hours wandering around. The orangatung house is great, especially if you are lucky enough to go often, as they have had many births over the past few years and its fun to watch the progress of the young ones. The only drawback is the parking situations and the hordes of school children.…

good? free. bad? where are the animals and why are the cages so small. we had a great time at the zoo...and i must admit it's nice to not have to actually pay for admission. but you wonder if they could charge people $5 or $10 they could actually make a decent living space for the animals. the poor leopard was literally pacing angrily back and forth in its 20 foot wide cage. i hope it only spends a couple hours in there a day...it's truly sad to see these beautiful animals living like that.…
