Great Carne Asada
by kedvale at Citysearch
This restaurant is known for it's skirt steak, carna asada. It is a healthy portion, grilled to perfection. The prices are reasonable. Margaritas are good and the atmosphere is great to watch a sports game. The staff is very attentive. However, they will struggle with a large crowd.
- Pros: Good drinks and carne asada
- Cons: Not great at handling large groups
Pretty Generic
by hamlin1508 at Citysearch
Visited here after being told that it is the best they had so I did have some expectations. The service for a busy pre sox game was overall good. The drinks did satisfy as the other reviewers stated. It is the food were we part company. Mostly bland, the rice had no flavor, rest of the dish was greasy. There are many more Mexican places in Chicago that serve authentic food. Most are the smaller hole in the wall places that are not trying to please everyone, and may not serve alcohol, but much better food. I would go back here for drinks and something to nosh on. I would describe Pancho's as the Bennigan's of Mexican food.
- Pros: Very good drinks.
- Cons: Food was bland.
Best Mexican restaurant for steak!
by lmd6204 at Citysearch
If steak is your choice for Mexican food, Pancho's is the place! They have the best char-broiled steak on all of their sandwiches and also have steak for an entree served with beans, rice, lettuce, tortillas and the fixings which is succulent! It is very juicy and very tasty!
Margaritas...did I mention that they have the best margarita I've ever had. People I know go there just for the jumbo margaritas, also! The flavors are regular and blended strawberry. Yumm! A great way to cool off in the summer time! Their prices are very modest and affordable. You can eat an entree with a margarita for under $20.00. Great deal for such delicious food and awesome service!
- Pros: Great food, atmosphere, service and price
- Cons: Chicken is always overcooked and dry. Order the steak.
La Joya de Bridgeport
by rosetovah at Citysearch
This is truly a treasure of Bridgeport - a diamond in the rough, if you will. The service was impeccable: attentive and knowledgable. The decor was stunning - terracotta sponge-painted walls with exposed brick intermittant - and most importantly, the food was sumptuous.
The margaritas were hearty, with generous proportions to quench even the most voracious thirst. They come in a variety of delectable flavors, which can be mixed at the diner's preference. Frozen to perfection, these will make a delicious summer treat. Speaking of summer, the patio is open in warm weather. The brothers Garcia run their local hotspot with finesse and dedication.
- Pros: Wonderful food, Great Atmosphere, Best Margaritas
- Cons: Wish it was next door
The best Mexican I've had in Chicago
by qruby716 at Citysearch
I used to live 5 minutes from Poncho's and I took it for granted. Now I live in Arlington Heights, and I have to make a special trip down to Bridgeport to get take out! I don't know how they do it, but this is easily the best Mexican food in Chicago. The chimichangas and vegetarian burritos are especially yummy! HIGHLY recommended!
- Pros: Great food, Inexpensive
- Cons: So-so service, Loud
great food...terrible service
by nealoo at Citysearch
Enticed by the 17 inch burritos, i decided to give this place a try. Food is relatively cheap and good, but every time i have been I've gotten terrible service. I have to ask the waitrons for things multiple times and they are always very slow bringing the check. They also failed to inform me that refills on soft drinks are not free and billed me for it anyways. The food is good, but be wary of the service
- Pros: inexpensive, good food
- Cons: terrible service

This restaurant offers cheap Mexican food and good frozen margaritas. It's a favorite of local police officers--six different groups were served while we were there! The salsa's spicy and the tortilla chips are warm. Food comes in large portions at small prices. There's no separation between the smoking and non-smoking section, and the three TVs can be distracting, but this has become a casual dining favorite.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Good food, Margaritas
- Cons: Smoking
Come from miles around

I visit Chicago once a year for 2 weeks. I eat here at least 3 or 4 times while I'm here and take at least 2 or 3 burritos home with me to VA. My sister visits me in VA 2 or 3 times a year and she brings me 2 or 3 burritos every visit. I can't get enough of the steak burritos. They are THE BEST !!
