I go 3 times a week.

Try their General Thomas omlette with green olives. Best breakfast around. For lunch or dinner their mini burgers are awesome with waffle fries. This place has got some great diner food but I'd avoid the more sophisticated sounding entree's. It is a warm feeling dining here, the ambiance is relic and patriotic which I find respective and intelligent for a dining restaurant. The waiting staff is friendly, the management intensely professional yet still polite and their register counter has lots of candy, cigars, and cigarette brands you can't normally find in the lincoln square area.
- Pros: Fast service, happy waitresses, great mini-burgers, warm settings
- Cons: Expensive entrees could use better ingredients
The Best Pancakes in the World
by bugg427 at Citysearch
The best buttermilk pancakes anywhere can be found at this fantastic, old-school diner. From the helmet hair, silent hostess to the gigantic diet cokes to the super yummy waffle fries, everything about this place is great!! As an added perk, free parking with a cool token to exit just ends the experience with a bang. Go soon, and go often.
- Pros: Food, Value, Parking
- Cons: None!
Horrible Everything!
by avalon737 at Citysearch
Not only was the food horrible, but the service was some of the worst I've had. I ordered a sandwich and fries, and asked the waitress for ranch and mayo. At least 10 minutes went by and she never came back to our table! When I started getting irritated and looking at other employees, waiting for someone to come over, I still got ignored! Quite a few of the other waitresses looked right at me and never even bothered to stop by or get my server. The only positive thing about the place was the really big glasses of soda they give you (but then again, maybe that's why the server ignored our table!) This place was really bad and I wish I had not wasted a Sunday lunch here!!
- Cons: Service, Food
This authentic, home-style Midwestern diner is a North Center institution.

In Short
It doesn't get more old-school than this place, from the bouffant-haired hostess to the floral-print booths and light wood accents. A mixed crowd of aging blue collars and yuppies with kids fill the three spacious rooms and chow on reliable American grub--skillets, omelets and flapjacks; sandwiches, burgers and salads; steaks, pasta and seafood. Omelets are filling, and corned beef hash is good and greasy, with flecks of onion and diced potato. The coffee's strong, the O.J. fresh-squeezed.
