User Reviews for Village Tap

I'm not a much of drinker, so I cannot say anything either way for their beer selections. As for their food, I have to issue high marks. The other reviews are well in summing up that there is certainly variety in a meat-eater/veggie menu. Veggie burgers, hummus, and a couple other dishes occupy space on the menu and have a thumbs-up backing by friends who frequent the Tap. The service can be less than prompt, but the food makes it forgivable.

Pros: Good menu selections, praise for the beer selection

Cons: Service, limited indoor space

A cool, relaxed place with good drinks NO club heads or stiffs here A nice change of pace from the typical pub

A cool, relaxed place for drinking a lot of beer. No club types or any stuffed shirts. The neighborhood is awesome. Needs more English Ale though.

Great beer selection and some of the best bar food you'll find in the city. There aren't too many places where you can go with both carnivores and vegetarians and have everyone be satisfied, but this definitely will do just that. Also the owner of one of the best beer gardens in Chicago!

I visited this place while in Chicago for a convention. This place certainly beats some of the tourist-trap places surrounding the downtown hotel strips. Great beer and friendly staff!

We've been coming here for years for great beer, great burgers and spinach quesadillas. It's a nice, casual place for everyone. (The beer garden is popular with families.) Nice staff, too.

Pros: Variety, Friendly, Great Burgers

I've been here numerous times. They have a large and ever changing selection of specialty beer on tap. The food it excellent. I would recomend the chicken quesadilla it is superb. The beer garden is great for a group but get there early it fills up quick.

Pros: Great Beer Selection, Great Beer Garden, Teriffic Food

Cons: Small Tables Inside

I've loved this place for a long time. Village Tap offers a great beer selection, friendly and helpful bartenders and good food. As a vegetarian, I love having so many veggie options to choose from. Where else can a vegetarian get great beer AND bar food?! The year-round beer garden is a great place to have a beer and enjoy a good book by yourself or to hang out with a group of friends.

Pros: Great Beer Selection, Helpful bartenders, Good food

The Village Tap is unusual in the sense that you have to order at the counter, instead of being waited. The food is brought to your table though and the prices are good. I like top bring my buddies here for a cold one. And the porch is covered in the winter.

Pros: Porch

Cons: No waiters
