A virtual Mecca for gear heads, this electronics giant hawks everything from booming sound systems to notebook-sized personal computers.. In Short
Founded in 1983, this high-tech haven is recognizable by its blue, box-like building stamped with a yellow price tag-shaped logo. Explore the wide, gadget-lined aisles and find brand-name goods including personal computers, video games, TVs, digital cameras, cell phones and fax machines. Choose from a slew of popular brands such as Canon, Microsoft, Samsung and Sony. In-house installation services are available for most car audio and video systems, home entertainment systems, satellite hook-up, and home appliances.

Worst service ever. DO NOT USE THIS BRANCH'S CAR STEREO INSTALLATION SERVICE. Their service is abysmal -- slow, inaccurate, and impolite. To simply have a stereo and speakers installed, I had to return to the branch multiple times. Ultimately, I spent 11 hours (& 2 hours in travel) waiting for installation on a job that should have taken 2 hours. Any big-box store that has an associated installation shop has little incentive to provide as quality services as stand-alone stores, and, as a virtual monopolist, certainly has the luxury to charge above-market prices. This experience exemplified the problems with going to such a store. If I had known the inconvenience this experience would involve, I never would have set foot in the store. Let my mistake inform your decision.

Best headache. This location is in perhaps the worst parking lot ever in Chicago. The drivers like to play chicken or not move at all. So, once you get inside, you'll find a very unhelpful staff and a very picked-through selection. Best Buy offers a lot, but find another location and go. This store is too hectic and limited.
