Great Food, Horrible Service!!!
by Simpleman008
Yes! The tacos and burritos are delicious and addictive, but the level of service for a well established restaurant is super low!! The staff does not prepare your food your way, they prepare how they feel it's right. You ask for light onions and cilantro and you get about a quarter pound of onions and cilantro. If you return your food, they get mad. DO NOT GO TO THEIR "EXPRESS" LOCATIONS!!!! These locations always run out on things, like limes, horchata and they never have lemonade!!! They are NOT close to being good in taste. Good taste is located in the original locations on ASHLAND AVE!!!! It's true what the other guy mentioned in his review... They are getting cocky with the all the attention they are getting. Overall, order your food and get out. The taste you'll love but the service you'll hate... They only get two stars because of the good tasting food but if it wasn't for that, they would not get any stars.
- Pros: Great Steak tacos
- Cons: Horrible Staff

Fatty Burritos
by conr
For the most part, their steamed beef burritos are awesome. Lately though, quality has slipped. I don't know if they are getting cocky because of the increasing awareness or what but they need to change their ways. The meat used to be great. But more often then not the meat is very fatty or greasy. I had one burrito recently with so much fat, I through it away. Unfortunately it was a to go order so I couldn't send it back. I have tried to reach the owner and discuss the quality issue but he is too hard to get hold of. When the meat is good, it will be the best burrito you will ever have. Let's hope they get the message. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

The Best Tacos in CHICAGO ... Try them & you will never go back to your old taco joint. This is a 100% Mexican taco like the one your mom makes at home .
- Pros: The steak tacos & burritos are the Best in the USA
- Cons: None great food !
THE ABSOLUTE BEST... What a burrito is supposed to taste like!
by lmaywf
If you're looking for ambiance, forget it, just good food here. Don't miss this spot if you're passing through the city. I was turned on to them by a 'chef' on our way to Wrigley Field. Fabulous! It's hard to find an authentic Mexican spot that hasn't compromised by going 'white' on us. Hope they never change! It's no wonder they have three restaurants in one block!
Below Avg. Steak Tacos & Burritos. Steak Tacos were chewey, not tasty or well-seasoned, and oily.
by mrjustice
Sorry, but I must strongly disagree with all those folks that think this place has the best (steak) tacos & burritos. Found the steak meat to be tough/chewey and not particularly tasty or well-seasoned. Tacos were also very greasy, and too little 'filling' of onions and cilantro. Also, we paid the extra 50cents for gaucamole, and there was barely a quarter-teaspoon if that on any of the Tacos. And, dissappointed there was no option to add real Avocado (which is my preference). The usual free Tortilla Chips were also not very well-made or tasty, and the 3 sauces to go with only so-so. The only positive note I'd make is that it is BYOB, so you can definately eat (& drink) on the cheap. But, for my money (and tastebuds), TACALITLAN beats this place hands down. (See my review of Tacalitlan).
- Pros: BYOB and cheap
- Cons: Steak Tacos and Burritos were chewey, not well-seasoned and oily. "Extra" Gaucamoli was almost non-existent. Tortilla Chips bad. Salsa so-so.
The BEST dam burrito's in the history of the world! Period! If you do one thing before you die, eat here! Then you can die!

I have been coming here since I was a teenager, which is about 20 years, and this is by far the best place for burrito's I have ever been to in my life! I now live in Grayslake, which is an hour to an hour and a half from La Pasadita, but when I am in the mood for one I will drive all the way down just for a burrito! To die for! I wish someone would give my a couple of burrito's for Christmas-that would be the best present I would want. I have taken every friend and even every girlfriend I ever had and now my wife and kids here to try it. Once you go, your hooked! Right now I am literally drooling over the thought of sinking my teeth into one. Great. Now I have to go get one! Anyone else wanna join me?
- Pros: You will never want a burito from anywhere else!
- Cons: You will never want a burito from anywhere else!
Numero Uno Burrito
by mrs_bix
I have been eating at the little yellow shack on Ashland, Las Pasadita, for about 20 years now. They have by far, the best steak burritos I have ever had. You may want the hot sauce on the side so that you control how hot you like it, DELICIOUS!
- Pros: Excellent food
- Cons: I recommend take out, but I also recommend the yellow shack Las Pasadita on the East side of Ashland.
awsome burrito
by electrica
I have been going to the one with only the counter for 20 years, my husband lived down the street. The other locations across the street might be by the same people but in order to get the true burrito or taco you have to go to the original one. No other steak burrito compares!
