Decent pizza, good price
by xopineapple71890xo
If you want cheap pizza, this is the place to go, but dont excpect exceptional flavor. The service is good and the staff friendly, though. Good for the college crowd.
- Pros: good price, good service
- Cons: not the most flavorful pizza
Great pizza and cheap eats!
by sleopold
Went here with my family before graduation and the pizza was good, the service was good and the price was excellent. I like Giordianos but this is just like it at have the price...definitely worth it. The outside looks disgusting but the inside was just like any pizza place...wood booths, etc. Definitely recommend this place for great pizza at a decent price!

We were supposed to get pizza at 5. It is now 5:34! Thank you, goodbye.
Nothing is Better
by neokortex
The ambiance is a relaxing, beautiful, serene atmosphere with prompt service and best of all, it is a great value (especially on a college budget). I took my girlfriend there last week and we had a pizza, drinks, and garlic bread for under $20. Nothing can beat the value and the quality.
Studying and relaxing students make this come-as-you-are pizza joint a second home.

In Short
A buzzing nighttime crowd of Loyola students sinks into spacious booths. Available in thin, stuffed and pan varieties, pizza is the focus here; toppings are typical, except for the pesto pizza with garlic, pine nuts and parsley. Favorite pies include stuffed spinach and the Carmen's Special, a hefty blend of sausage, mushroom, green pepper and onion. Another favorite is the antipasto salad, with two dressings (vinaigrette and dill ranch) and a generous portion of imported meats, cheese and veggies.
Can't beat it

This is a very nice place, relaxing, welcoming....and good food. went there with a friend and we had such a good time with our waiter and apparently he did too, told me if I'm ever in again and he's working the bar he'd give me a beer, now that's cool!!!
- Pros: Inexpensive, Location
- Cons: No parking
Great Pizza
by hellokt83
Carmens is friendly, inexpensive, and delicious. I order the baby stuffed pizza all the time, they are even great with call ahead orders so you can eat when you arrive, as opposed to waiting. The cheese is some of the best I've had, and the crust is also top-notch. This is a great alternative to a place like Gino's.
- Pros: , Inexpensive, Good
- Cons: Slow, no ambience
This is the BEST
by DamasoRodriguez
I'm a lover of Chicago pizza. I've tried them all. Certainly all of them that are supposed to be "the best". Carmen's of Loyola was always my favorite. I used to live in Roger's Park, and my wife and I would find ourselves in Carmen's week after week. We were broke then, and we could get full on a small sausage pizza and a 1/2 (and on some days...full) caraf of wine for $20.
- Pros: Best Chicago Pizza, Cheap Carafs, Low Prices
- Cons: Neighhborhood
Best Chicago-style Pizza!

Deep Dish Chicago Pizza, cheap carafes of wine, and a short walk to the Village North, make Carmen's one of the cheapest dates in town.
