The Ciro's of 2008. If you have not been to Pete Millers in Wheeling lately, you have not been to Pete Millers. Gone are the Pool Tables and rock music, replaced by the most elegant rooms and music I have been to in awhile. It rmakes me think of Old Hollywood like Ciro's or the Brown Derby. You can almost imagine Sinatra, Cary Grant and Rita Hayworth walking in the door. And that includes, what has to be, the best outdoor bar and dining space around. Obviously designed as an outdoor space, not a sidewalk with tables, you will not want to leave.

I ate inside and the food, wine, and service were all impeccable. The New York Strip with the Stilton crust was perfect, try the grilled calamari or seared tuna app and ask for the Cigarzin wine. Perfect night. And the service was exactly what you would hope for, attentive without being in your face. Knowledgable and professional.

If you want a place for yourself personally or for your company, this is the place. It is my new favorite joint.

Just felt wrong for a special night out. Steak OK, but attitude not worth the $$$$.. Went on a Saturday with a party of four. Reservations made, noting diner was for a 50th b-day. Arrived on time, but the table wasn't ready. Sat at the newly cleaned bar (smelledl ike bleach). When the table was ready, they sat us in a cold, dark side room (two tables only) adjacent to a large, occupied party room. Couldn't even see the menu. Talked to the host-- this is what we get for making a reservation??; met with attitude after we requested a nicer table ("the 'room' IS considered part of the main dining area!"). Waiter "couldn't recommend any of the fish-- it's out of season" so we didn't get to see any specials. Two of four salad orders were wrong, my ceasar tasted like horseradish was added. Three of four dinner orders were wrong, a third came late. Strip Steak was OK-- was it really aged? Didn't have that aged taste or look. Asked for cognac sauce, recd peppercorn (yuk). Tired of asking for corrected food! Waiter was distracted by other nearby tables, didn't check on us or refill non-alcoholic beverage. No 'thank-you' from the waiter as we left. Waiting for the slow valet, we had to see an over-served 50-ish patron flashing her pals in a limo. Classy. The experience left us with no reason to return-- at any price.

Disappointing. I went with a large group and most of our group seemed to like their steaks very much. However, two of us had the audacity to order our steaks well-done, OMG, I dont know where they found a piece of leather that thick. I have had wonderful well-done steaks from good steakhouses that know how to cook a steak to order, this was very disappointing.

Food, Atmosphere !!!!!!. Absolutley fantastic !!! Have enjoyed dinner there multiple times and never have been dissapointed. The bar area is always jumping but yet the dinning area is nice and serene. The food has always been wonderful. The managment always does there job over and above, we were mistakingly overlooked while waiting for our table, the manager on duty ordered us a round of drinks and also paid for our desserts, to me thats what excellent customer service is always about, that one simple jesture had us coming back.

No frills steak house with live music. Universal steak house with bar with tv screens in the middle, live music 6 nights, private rooms available. Food is not first class but it is much better than Outback. Ambiance is more relaxed than in typical steak house. Nice place to spend with friends who need to watch game all the time and enjoy food.

Great Steak in Wheeling. This restaurant is an exceptional midwestern steakhouse that has quality service and educated server's as they bring a plate of rare steaks out to show the different cuts. The dining room is beautiful and is always crowded. There is quick service at this restaurant so expect to wait for a table. It is the perfect restaurant for those who have pleanty of time for dinner, as the server's never rush to turn your table.

A Little extra. Dining here on Thursday nights offers an added bonus treat. After a fabulous dinner, we were able to sit in the lounge and enjoy live jazz music sipping ice cold Martini's. It was an exceptionally relaxing way to finish the evening.

Our New Fav Too!. WOW! This place does it all right. We visited on a very hopping Saturday evening and were seated promptly at our reservation time. The house wines are excellent, and generous size glasses too. We skipped salad and appetizers so we could fill up on the main course and dessert. My wife and I both ordered steaks (blackened) and they were perfect. The flavor was incredible and they were cooked exactly as requested. The mashed potatoes and vegetable of the day (carrots) were fantastic too.

Save room for dessert-- pecan pie and death by chocolate are wonderful. They even serve Starbucks coffee-- the best in our opinion.

All and all, a great place. Super service, wonderful food, reasonably priced for what you get. We will be back!

LOVE PETE MILLER'S. My new favorite restaurant. I go when I'm in the mood for a burger, I go when I'm in the mood for a fine dining experience, and I go when I'm in the mood to go to a bar. This restaurant has it all. Live music, great bar, billiards, big flat screen TV'S, a beautiful dining room. A room for every occasion. A great place!
