Used music and movies for cheap. I found all the old music and movies I love in this place as well as many new ones for a price so low I couldn't believe it! If you're gonna buy a record or a movie check these guys out before you goto Borders. The money you save and the rare gems you found make this a spot worth hitting up everytime you're looking for new tunes.

The only down side is the staff are kinda snobby and uptight. They listen to lots of music we've probably never even heard of and they look down their nose at you if you try to sell them used music they don't care about.

Good music, Snobbing employees. They have two locations - this one and another in Wicker Park [Wicker Park seams a little bigger, but I'm not sure on exact size of both locations] The store is well known for having everything ever recorded in a used format [vinyl, cd, etc]

They are great for finding obscure out of date records and cd's....they are bad for having employees who look down their noses at you for not knowing the names of all their favorite indi rock bands.

Seriously - its amazing that in a music market so saturated with itunes, kazaa and myspace music downloads - some no talent hipster dork thinks he still has job security at a record store. Don't these people know we don't have to put up with their snobby bs to purchase music? Get a life, people! Or get a real job.

Indie geeks and movie freaks can't get enough of this multi-faceted, financially feasible emporium.. The Scene
Bespeckled hipsters with side-slung bags riffle through section after section of new and used CDs, videos and DVDs, silently contemplating how the latest Nelly album made its way into the racks. Cranked, varied tunes keep the vibe vibrant, while its musically well-informed staff rattles on about the rise of alt-country, the drudgery all ages shows and their distain for malt beverages. And keep an eye out-you might even get rung up by Revolting Cock Chris Connelly.

The Goods
Among the city's greatest resources for affordable new and used, out-of-print and hard-to-find indie releases-both on CD and LP-everything is easy to locate and divided first by category, then alphabetically. Face-level you'll find new releases from ambient and experimental to punk, rock and soul, many with notes of recommendation. Other offerings include video games, multi-formatted movies (some avant, others unbearably mainstream, many used).

kick-butt cd store. Super-cool indie spot for records. lotsa freaky introverted college students work here, giving it that authentic slacker vibe. good used selection, and you can listen to any cd you like. much better than buying from the man over at border's.
